tell us about a shiny encounter ζ༼Ɵ͆ل͜Ɵ͆༽ᶘ
oh MAN so let me tell you about the time all the way back in november-december 2013 when i tried to masuda method breed for a shiny eevee (keyword: tried)
all the way back when x and y first came out, i suddenly found myself running into shiny after shiny. it all started with the random shiny ditto i found during my nuzlocke of pokemon x, followed soon after by a random shiny sableye and illumise. then, an idea came to me: if i was finding so many shinies completely randomly, id surely be able to get even more by going out and hunting for them! it was then that i got my hands on the shiny kanto starters, among a few others. but, all the while, i had my heart set on getting a beautiful shiny sylveon.
so, i searched up the easiest shiny hunting methods online, happening upon the masuda method. i figured that as long as i stuck to the task of hatching myself a shiny, i would be able to get my shiny eevee in no time! well, i was totally wrong.
after 6 weeks and over 1,000 eevees hatched, i was still no closer to getting my shiny than i had been at the beginning! i was soon known among my friends as the “eevee kid,” who had so many eevee that they didnt know what to do with them. on top of that, they all had bizarre nicknames, ranging from “neuroscience” to “wet gay ball” to over 70 eevee all named “pee swag 666.” i was exhausted. i was angry. and i was so, so sick of breeding eevee.
finally, one day, i decided that i would speed up the process by hatching eevee eggs while running around in an eevee friend safari. then, that very same day, i found a shiny aipom, a shiny audino, and finally, FINALLY, my very own shiny eevee, who i evolved into a sylveon the next day. his name is sapphie and i still have him and use him in wi-fi battles to this day. the end.
