#158: MAGGAT/125, RUE MONTMARTRE - “split”

hm. i guess haven’t listened to this record (released in 1999) often enough, when i bought it in the late 90ies. otherwise i would have remembered that especially the MAGGAT-songs are awesome. they sound like a mixture between BRAID and REIZIGER and sometimes even get the catchiness of THE GET UP KIDS. true 90s us-emo-rock, although the band is from germany (sharing members with THE ROBOCOP KRAUS).

the 125, RUE MONTMARTRE-songs are a little different. 90s-emo as well, but with very nice and clear female vocals. i have to think of JEJUNE and BABY GOPAL, though it’s not the most accurate analogy, i guess. but very nice songs as well.

this split-7″ was the 2nd release by the disappointed’s love letter, the label of niels metzger from bielefeld.
