Maggie Kirkpatrick: not just another Yente.

Bea Arthur played matchmaker Yente on Broadway (original cast, 1964) and "stole the show" as critics said. (See #Fiddler on the Roof for photos & edits.)

For unrelated reason, I'd known about Maggie Kirkpatrick a few hours ago.

In some photos she looks similar to Angela Lansbury, Bea Arthur's BFF since Mame on Broadway.

Then there was one image on Google from Fiddle on the Roof.

The first thought was, "Mother or Yente?" (Thinking later, it's unlikely for mother to smile to father* when she had never loved him and he had never loved her (marriage of convenience without them even know who is the other person before the wedding day.) (*Tevye the dairyman after whom the original story by Sholem Aleichem is named.) 

The reason of thinking is this photo. (Father, mother, Yente (right part is cropped.))

The answer was, Yente.

And then it happened. I couldn't help myself.
