Hi! I'm going to be adopting a kitty who's age is estimated at around 8 or 9 years old. The person giving her to me got her from a friend who adopted her from the local shelter as an adult, and somewhere along the way, the sweet bean was declawed. I plan on keeping her until the end of her days. Do you have any suggestions for keeping her poor toeses comfortable as she ages?

Have ramps that she can use to get on and off furniture as jumping is going to be painful. Be patient/understanding if she ends up with litterbox problems as she ages. Discuss signs of pain in cats with your vet and develop a plan for treating it ahead of time.

so I'm not saying this is correct BUT one theory I've seen as to why Holdo didn't say diddly about squat to anyone was because she was running on the theory that there was someone broadcasting their location to the First Order. but like... there are much better ways to go about handling that situation so like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

but these are all just theories! like i don’t think a filmmaker needs to EXPLAIN EVERYTHING or else it’s a plot hole or w/e but in this case – esp given how frickin rude she is to poe for no real reason – it’s CLEARLY just so the plot will work. the mole theory might have been a good idea honestly just to have SOMETHING – even if it’d just been implied – but alas, rj didn’t give a fuck.

hello! I just found your blog because and it's wonderful. question though: do you know anything about mushrooms in the American Pacific Northwest?

Thank you!!I don’t know much about mushrooms outside of Europe, because my interest primarily comes from mushroom hunting and I live in the UK, but there’s a lot of Europe/America overlap, and if you had a specific mushroom to ID or something there’s a decent chance I could name the genus, or could easily research it on one of a few North American mushroom sites I use :)

so how did you manage to get 5 speeding tickets in one week without having your license revoked?

Probably b/c they were all speeding camera tickets and I never got pulled over -- which is how I managed to get so many to begin with: I’d just started a new job, and I found what (I thought) to be a great shortcut on a fairly chill suburban stretch of road (no schools or anything so I wasn’t like, endangering the public). So I just blasted through this lane every day one week, totally missing the camera flash that presumably went off, and then the next week the tickets just started trickling in by mail.

And I think b/c it’s a camera ticket and they couldn’t prove I was the one driving (they just nab the license plate) they can’t really do much except fine you. But I didn’t even get points on my license, which I know b/c as part of my full disclosure thing for the bar, I mentioned it in my character and fitness application and the bar committee wrote back to be like ‘okay we need proof’ (of my tickets?? that i’d just admitted to???) so I had to pay like idk $20 to the Maryland DMV to pull my license records, and the tickets weren’t even on it. Presumably b/c I paid them off, or maybe because they attach to the record of the car and not the driver/license. So there’s actually no proof of me getting the tickets or paying off the fines, which is, I guess, good?
