I’m writing a very fun magical realism stucky fic, and I’m 5k words in and we’ve only seen steve in the second timeline... this might be more intricate than originally planned...
Has anyone written a Street Magician AU in the Convin fandom? I really want to write something like that (Now you see me - style) where the magician gets caught up in an investigation and woos the Detective haha
She could die in that cell, but perhaps a life in the dark and grime would be better than going up in flames or meeting the end with a rope around her neck. No, those were all terrible options, and Serafina had not resigned herself to her fate just yet. The lock in front of her seemed easy enough and the splintered, dry bones of a rat could serve as good of a lockpick as any - and then there was a loud clang, the guard assigned to her ward rising quickly with a shout only to fall just as soon. A cloaked figure took his place and seemed to offer her salvation.
“I don’t need your help,” she said. Yes, she needed to get out of there if she wanted to live, but she did not know who she was dealing with. How could she possibly trust this stranger? How much would it cost her to take his hand? She could handle herself, she decided, and heard the rustle of armor approaching from the hall, so:
“Fine,” she quipped, swiftly clasping onto his hand, “If you can get us out, get us out now.”
It was fun writing this one. Inspired from Naruto’s plot and a tad bit of God Au and Reincarnation Au. Also thanks for the comments on the tags @narubabe! and to everyone who sent hearts! Much loveeee! Anyways let’s get on with the story.
Prompt : Magic Au
Length: 2010 words
In the beginning the Gods provided all the needs of the world they created. They provided the wind that spread the seeds of a flower field. They provided the sunlight that would nourish the earth in all sorts of sizes from the smallest flower to the tallest tree. They provided the rain that would help create life or destroy it. They even provided the dreams that powered a person to aim for success. Their power was given a purpose when they created this world called the Earth
The Goddess of change and dreams saw that no matter how hard some people would want to change. Fate just didn’t want them to. She felt full of pity and anger as she could only motivate these people but cannot affect them directly by her powers. After seeing all the history of failed people that tried their very best, she decided that she had had enough. Knowing that the process would not only destroy her relations with the Gods and leave her invulnerable for many years she decided to use her ultimate power: The Curse of the Red Moon.
The Curse of the Red Moon was only to be used when mankind came to the point that their pointless fighting would destroy the Earth. But Kaguya decided to use it now. The Curse of the Red Moon would inflict a worldwide effect that would put each and every person into a dream-like state that would contain their lives where every dream was fulfilled. Be it a baby to the oldest man. It would make mankind sleep until the nature healed their rightful home.
The Gods only found out about Kaguya’s abuse of her own powers when she started to cast the spell. The one thing Kaguya changed about the spell was that she made it so that the casting time would take only 20 years instead of a century and thus rendering the Gods useless.
The Gods held a council meeting to discuss their future plans on how to disrupt the spell. After much debate. The Gods found a hole in Kaguya’s plans. Her modified spell may have weakened the Gods but that didn’t include the power of the humans.
The Gods had a last resort ability where they could take form into a spirit that would encase all of their power. This was their purest form and this form had the ability to mesh with a human being thus removing a God’s immortality. It was a risk that the Gods would be willing to take in order to protect all of Earth from eternal sleep,
The God of the Sun and The Goddess of the Moon were the only volunteers of the said procedure. They knew the risks and would be willing to sacrifice their immortality for the Earth. They were destined to be always away from each other as Gods but not as humans. For them this would be the perfect opportunity for them to be together. Their immortal bodies still away from each other always 24 hours apart. This would lead the creation of a solid sun and moon.
The ritual was performed at the nearest the Gods could venture from the Earth so that the souls would find their way easily to a human host. As the two Gods felt their soul leaving their immortal body. They found it as a happy event as they modified the spell so that their hosts would be bound forever regardless of their mortality. Each host that dies will have their will of being bound together transferred to another host but rendering them powerless. There was no less need for power if one was beside the one he/she loved.
The God of the Sun’s spirit found its way on a newborn baby located in the village of the leaves. The boy had the exact body that showed out his inner spirit. The boy would eventually grow a head full of blonde spikes that would symbolize the rays of sunshine the Sun God provided. His eyes were blue as the sky that accompanied his rays of light from the heavens.
The Goddess of the Moon’s spirit also found its way on a newborn baby which was also located within the village of the leaves. The sweet baby girl also showed out her inner spirit. The girl’s tuft of indigo hair would grow into long locks that described the longevity of her patience. The girl’s eyes mirrored the glow she emitted unto mankind, white with a tinge of lavender.
Making sure the missions of the two Gods were enacted. The Gods would contact the monks that spread their messages and news to the people of the Earth. The Gods explained the whole situation to the monks especially of Kaguya’s treachery and the mortalization of the Sun God and the Goddess of the Moon. They also informed the monks of the location of the two God’s mortal bodies. And the fact that the monks would teach the way to the hosts to stay on the path of their destiny by training them while under their guidance.
Obeying the command of the Gods. They set out to inform the parents of the baby that held the two God’s spirit. The God of the Sun’s body belonged to a happy couple that were shocked to all the information that were thrown their way. Although reluctant to the orders of the Gods, The young couple would eventually part with their newborn to the monks but requested that they could visit anytime to the temple.
The Goddess’ of the Moon’s body belonged to a noble couple that belonged to a prestigious family that devoted their worship towards the moon. The couple was honored to have their child be chosen as a host of their worshipped God. Although they were saddened by the fact that their child would be taken from them. They would also part their newborn to the monks but also requested that a visitation could be held anytime in the temple.
Receiving the two newlyborns, they had trouble at the start with controlling their powers. Their powers could bring forth destruction to all mankind if not controlled. They made sure the two babies were well taken care of.
The first time they were informed of their destiny. They were young and was only a handful of years old. The God of the Sun’s body named Naruto, took in the information with confidence and zeal. Truly like what the Sun God acted when he was still up in the heavens. The God of the Moon’s body was named Hinata, took in the information with surprise and hesitation. Although it wasn’t good too good of a start off for Hinata. The monks knew of their hidden destiny of being together that would strengthen their power tenfold.
Growing up and being trained at the same process. They were taught with the way of the monks but with a looser discipline. Naruto would although at time, fail at his tests, the boy valued the aspect of working hard and never giving up. Hinata had the potential to be better of the two but was hindered by her shy and gentle demeanor but she tried her best, sharing the same values as the boy she admired, her classmate one would say brought her the confidence to push through a lesson and picking your confidence when failing one lesson.
Years pass as they continued to grow and was constantly trained to control their powers. They eventually grew into a strong young man and a strong young woman. Naruto ,at the age of 19, could now use his god-given powers to near perfection. He could now bend the hot lights of the sun or create his own light that could be used to strike down an enemy. He could also use his powers to have nearly infinite stamina. He mastered the powers of the spirit that resided in him to full potential.
Hinata,at the age of 18, would also grow in control of her powers. She could now bend the cold lights of the moon that mirrored the element of water and ice. She could strike down multiple waves of enemies by shining the light of her powers to them. She also had full control of her powers, even better than how Naruto controlled his. She could make her lights go solid and be used as a solid apparatus.
The monks could tell that they helped each other in learning through their lessons in all these years. He brought over the confidence she lacked in practicing their arts. She also reassured his abilities when the time would come that he lacked of it. The monks knew that they were inlove with each other but have kept close watch of it. The monks made sure that they focused on their destiny of stopping the Curse of the Red Moon. And now they were are the peak of their strengths and their coming of age they sent them to fulfill their destiny. Showing them the location of Kaguya. It was also the perfect time because in the 18th year of the spell casting. It was the time when their powers would grow and Kaguya’s would weaken.
Set out to fulfill their mission they headed out towards Kaguya’s location. Before starting their journey, they vowed to each other that they would be married after their mission. And they would need to stay alive.
Now approaching their destination. They could sense the sheer power of Kaguya’s prowess. Without warning she struck them immediately, sensing the spirits of the two Gods that resided within their bodies. She struck them down with her reality dispersing spheres that destroyed everything on their path.
Knowing the certain power would destroy them. They knew that they could defeat the Goddess by combining their powers bounded together with love. They discovered that love was what Kaguya lacked because she didn’t love the humans, she loved their dreams but not what was best for them. The influence of the Sun and Moon were destined to vanquish her and vanquish her they will. The God of the Sun and The Goddess of the Moon knew that they could defeat Kaguya with their powers combined but they could not combine due to the immortal state as Gods.
They volunteered not only to save the world but to teach the people the ways of peace and love. And now on their final battle, They were getting close to it together.
Kaguya kept flailing her spheres to both of Naruto and Hinata but little did she know that she was playing to their trap. Naruto absorbed the power from her spheres while Hinata made sure that Naruto wouldn’t lose control over Kaguya’s influencial power. After countless spheres were thrown. Naruto was almost full of Kaguya’s power and was ready to launch his, Hinata’s, and Kaguya’s transmutized power to full force.
Reaching their limits they poured both out of their powers. The beam was made up of the powers of three Gods. The ray took into a form of the space above looking like millions of galaxies inside of it.
The ray struck Kaguya and not only dispelled the spell that brought the Curse of the Red Moon. It also limited Kaguya’s power and authority over her state as the Goddess of dreams and change. The Gods above could now take control of her so that she would never abuse her powers again.
Now exhausted and tired after fulfilling their destinies. They swore to each other to stay forever and thus finally the two God’s spirit could now be dissipated because they were together. Their influence was finally put back towards the physical embodiments which were the sun and moon.
However their will to stay together was still inside the two hosts. Naruto and Hinata could now live their futures together, spreading the philosophy of the balance of love and dreams, from this life to the next. Their lives will always find a way to be connected and drawn to each other.
