”Spin the bottle, spin the fucking bottle”
I like the name XD
What is it about?
Got a couple of asks about this one so I'll ramble
This one started off as an idea where Kennedy and Peter, two characters from my original work/universe Vivere, got stuck playing a game spin the bottle. Peter is a slightly immortal pirate captain, and Kennedy is 16 at the time, so it makes for an awkward situation
(in the future, Kennedy is made quartermaster on Peter's ship the Viceroy)
So how it goes, basically Kennedy wanted to join the older crew members for a game, and figured it would be "silly" to join a game of spin the bottle, thinking of nothing much of it. But when it landed on Peter, the crew got really quiet and awkward
For context, after Kennedy basically commits genocide on an entire nation as a child, they join the crew of pirates that helped to blow it up, and ends up finding a sort of paternal child dynamic with the captain, Peter "Greyheart"
I think I had Peter surprise the crew members by going over and giving Kennedy a light kiss on the hand or cheek in a very fatherly way, but it's been so long. I don't remember what actually happens, but whatever it is something the crew wouldn't expect Peter to do. It sort of paints them in a more vulnerable way, and shows a bit more of a familial dynamic that isn't super obvious at first, but makes a lot of sense once you see it. It also shows just how much the two of them have grown closer after a rocky start
Also it's canon. Might be referenced in the books idk
