Magic Dirt - Watch Out Boys (2003)
Magic Dirt, White Boy from girl (2008).
I feel a little low I feel a little low I feel a little lost At no extra cost
And then I get a call It's you on the line Are you comin' out tonight We'll have a whale of a time
Cos I'm sick of feeling shit I'm sick of feeling bare I'm sick of feeling hurt I'm sick of feeling neither here nor there
Hey little white boy Put your hand on my head Hey little white boy I need all the help I can get
My sheet is feeling is wet It's from all my sweat I bet And you know I wanna hold Everything I ever met
Then I taste the salty tears And I think of all the years And I see I see you may I see you wipe em all away . . .

I think I was the egg that hatched last, but I listened longer. And now I’ve broken free and noticed I don’t look like my kin; I don’t belong here, I shouldn’t have expected to fit in.
I try not to be too much, my ego restrained by modesty. I try to hide, slide on by before your eyes linger too long. I’ve never been very comfortable being scrutinized; for all the magic pumping out of my soul, I feel unfulfilled, incomplete. Like the underside of the canvas, more of a hidden potential, than substantial art.
What you see, this image, this face, is a meager attempt at a one dimensional painting. Here is a form you can understand, here is another, and another. Here are all the pieces of my heart, for the concept is too large to display in one medium, time, or person. But, if you look too closely, you’ll see it’s just spilled wine and filth.
And on this next edition of Rachel Likes Girls in Suits, here’s a pic of Australian Rock Goddesses Sarah McLeod and Adalita suited up for their respective turns as St Jimmy in American Idiot.
If I was to say something completely honest, if I was to put it all out onto to the table... I would say that the ‘Looking For Alibrandi’ soundtrack is the single most greatest Australian soundtrack based on a movie for teenagers released in the year 2000… Or like in any year. From the inclusion of Killing Heidi’s “Weir” to the last track sung by Gina Zoia “Tintarella Di Luna”, the album is a great inclusion of rock and alternative bands the youth of today were listening to and songs that set the mood for the movie. The album shows that it was carefully curated to reflect the rebelliousness of the film, and the excitement of being young. It isn't an album that is hard to come by, as it is readily available on discogs, or ebay and I recommend that it be included in anyone's CD collection if they like Aussie music, or the film, or even the book. You won't regret it.
