▶︎ Magic Pacer Dig This Dig That circa 1997 (Early Bobby Hecksher, later formed The Warlocks)

I randomly found the track "Trains" on a compilation sampler in '97, and somehow it instantly grew on me. I think I dubbed it onto a mixtape, or ripped out onto a mix CD later, but eventually, I lost track of all copies. I never even looked up the band or anything.

The track popped into my head a couple times recently, so I poked around the internet, without even remembering the name of the band or the track. I knew the approximate

Era 1996 y los Smashing, Portishead y Garbage aún tenían cierta aura alternativa, cierto mood marginal.

Entonces escuchar sonidos como los de Magic Pacer no era algo especial.

Era como que todos pasaban a formar parte de un mismo grupo, de un mismo equipo.

Luego apareció el mainstream y creó distancias.
