akhkdkf okay so here's the thing the hanwenzhou of it all was part of a larger insane setting which i don't remember. it was not ancient fantasy china tho ill tell u that much. the hanwenzhou part was just. wenzhou really being into being ignored by han ying/han ying acting just really nonchalant during sex. and also han ying was topping both of them. maybe this was a message from god tbh i'm much like a prophet in this way if u really think abt it

Ah, sadly not! I'm not very well-informed on this but better posts have been written on the subject -- taking a partner's name after marriage wouldn't be commonplace in China of this (vague, ahistorical) time. But there are exceptions, and one does come up in the show 👀

Still I really enjoy this scene for how cocky fdb is, and it becomes Very Interesting in retrospect when you've watched some more!
