A Nudge of shoulders as the Faeblood settles beside the immortal “ Have you ever done this spell before? “
Nadia smiles as she lets Finlay sit next to her, then looks over what the fellow wizard brought over.
“What kind of spell?” she asked curiously.
For Funsies Finlay/Nadia
Gives nose/forehead kisses: Nadia
Gets jealous the most: Neither, both trust each other
Takes care of on sick days: Finlay, since Nadia is stubborn when she’s sick on work days
Drags the other person out into the water on beach day: Finlay
Brings the other lunch at work: Both, since Nadia will forget hers, or Nadia wants to bring lunch to Finlay when she can
Tries to start role-playing in bed: Neither
Embarrassingly drunk dancer: Both, but they have fun and make sure they don’t tip each other over (they fail)
Firmly believes in couples costumes: Nadia, but Finlay has fun with it
Breaks the expensive gift rule during Christmas: Finlay, who finds the rare enchanted charms and hand crafted gifts for Nadia
Makes the other eat breakfast: Both, they take turns making breakfast in the morning so they don’t forget to eat
Remembers anniversaries: Finlay remembers while Nadia celebrates
Brings up having kids first: Neither, but adoption isn’t off the table
Kills the bugs: Neither, but Finlay is the one who puts them outside while Nadia stands on a chair, frantically screaming
First to define them as a couple: Nadia
Who hides their guilty pleasures longer: Nadia, who really doesn’t want to look like a nerd or a complete weirdo to Finlay, but they accept what makes her happy and doesn’t mind
Snorts while laughing: Nadia, and soon Finlay tries to find ways to make her snort louder and more often

Late night with a full moon. Nadia looked up at the moon and down to the city below, noting how the streetlights and billboards always outshone the lights above. When was the last time she saw stars? When was the last time she saw the moon shine brilliantly over the land?
The shriek of her familiar snapped her back from her thoughts, and she looked down again to the city below. Commercial center. Small store. They still had to be there, they HAD to.
Beatrice flew down closer to the streets before lighting down on a street lamp to help Nadia get a better look. The two were able to share feelings and emotions between each other to communicate. Nadia fed in urgency as well as happiness seeing the shop in question come into view. The owl launched from the top of the streetlight down to the shop door, crashing into it feet first to knock the only way an owl knows how. Nadia hung on for dear life with a yelp, nearly falling off.
Thankfully, the door opened. Oh thank God, they hadn’t left yet.
“Finlay!” Nadia called as loud as she could, standing up on her owl’s neck and waving her arms frantically. She really hoped the fey could see her, she was only six inches tall, no thanks to Wild Magic. She also hoped they could hear her tiny voice among Beatrice’s annoyed screachings. “I need your help!”

“I haven’t seen a creature like that in years.”
Nadia smiled, looking to the curious looking fey floating about her and Finlay lazily. It seemed like a cross between a bird and a fish, “swimming” around the two curiously and glowing a bright yellow.
“I think it’s a tulpa.” Nadia theorized. “But it certainly felt more at home near the water.” She raised a gentle, submissive hand to it, as if inviting a bird to perch on her wrist. The creature avoided it with a light “whoop,” and started to float an orbit around Finlay.
“I see them all the time in Arcadia, probably because they’re so attached to the humans who dreamt them. Are they really so rare?”
“I can sense you,”
Nadia chuckled and took her staff away, holding it to the side.
“It seems no matter what I do, I can’t suppress my aura. That’s a shame.” She smiled. “It would be nice to walk around certain places undetected. Oh well.”
“there’s nothing wrong with asking for help.”
He sucks in a deep breath, ears flicking back. Of course there’s never anything wrong with asking for help. But at some point there isn’t much others can do either.
“I know.” Jim mumbles, using the wall to prop himself up. His heart is still thudding, the last little dregs of panic making it feel like his chest is being squeezed. “I just.... Need a minute. I’ll be okay.”
“What’s wrong?”
Nadia flinched hearing Finlay’s voice nearby, turning from her view of the overlook and giving her usual cheerful smile.
“Oh, Finlay, hi! You startled me.” She held her staff horizontal out of habit. “Sorry, I was lost in thought.” As much as she was worried about something, the last thing she wanted to do was lay out her problems to someone who wouldn’t care. Or understand. “Care to join me? The sunrises are absolutely perfect in this spot.”
