“Are you well? Nightmares are no stranger to me, and I bear no wish to intrude, but you may outlast the moon if you stand up here for much longer.”
“I’VE A QUESTION FOR YOU, DARLING. IT MAY NOT BE A PLEASANT ONE.”
actually, vivienne has several. this latest companion of the inquisitor’s is a veritable pandora’s box: appearing out of skyhold from quite literally nowhere, elegantly deflecting questions about her previous whereabouts behind alienages, possessing quite an extraordinary skill at killing —
not to mention her spot-on knowledge about a certain something.
vivienne pretends to be fascinated with her nails for several moments before looking up abruptly, straight into sabina’s eyes. she smiles.
“how is it you know so much about the venatori, my dear? specifically: where to find their hideous, rat-infested nests. your track record is quite impressive; you’ve found caches that even darling scout harding was unaware of. rather odd for someone from ... where was it again?”
her tone is clear: whatever you’re about to tell me, it had better be good.
@magistersblade
catch me crying in this chilis about the sense of security Sabina gives Alanari (intentionally or not), how it lasts past the glamour of a new lover and all this catches them off guard

(Out in the field, while passing by this Fereldan mural.)
Solas: There. The same mural you believed was mine.Sabina: So I see. I wonder what story it tells.Solas: If I were to guess: a tale of beauty and her beast. There are enough variations of the story to go around.Sabina: Oh? I only know one.Solas: I would be interested in hearing it, if you would care to retell it.Sabina: (laughs) Maybe some other time, Solas. I’ve a feeling there will be trouble ahead.
Sabina: Do the Dalish have a tale like the one from the mural?Solas: I would not know. There is one Elvhen in origin. I first heard from a passing spirit with countless stories kept in her heart, some altogether forgotten, save for her long memory.Sabina: Could you tell it?Solas: I believe you still owe me a story, first.Sabina: Ah… Something tells you’d tell yours better.
“wait - did you hear that?” it could be nothing, but - knowing her luck, and the collective luck of the inquisition - it’s probably something. “we should get out of here.” @magistersblade

“I’m aware of the rumours.”
Stated sternly, Meredith’s calloused and scarred hand keeps firm on the whetstone whilst the other holds the hilt of a great sword. With care, she sharpens the first edge a number of times, only casting passing glances over her shoulder towards Sabina.
“Personally, I care little for the gossip. It is what it is - I have purpose here.”

The recent developments made against the Venatori were welcome, but Leliana’s curiosity will always go deeper than just accepting the circumstances as they are. She wouldn’t be a spymaster if she took things at face value. Some digging with the Inquisitor got her the information she wanted-- where they got the Venatori locations from. The newest recruit seems to be the one to thank for that.
The bard leaves her rookery with that information, walking along the battlements until she stands beside Sabine, leaning over the walls to look into the garden below. “You picked a nice spot,” she comments. “I can smell the flowers even from up here.”
How does Alanari propose (or plan to propose) to Sabina?
In a private moment.
By the time Victoria can no longer delay the Council, they've likely tried, and been thwarted by coincidence, more than once. It leaves them frustrated, because there's a storm on the horizon (more than one, as they'll learn), and if there's to be an ending, they'd rather spend it in love.
So. I'm creating this place solely for the purposes of this scene: outside the winter palace there is a well-maintained park, used by nobility for more leisurely hunts (the type involving more alcohol than is probably wise), and it makes for a decently quiet backdrop.
It's not completely private, of course. Alanari has their bodyguards (Manehn being one of them).
Their proposal is, strictly speaking, a declaration of intent, not an exchange of tokens (as would be customary). They've woven of ironbark and magic an amulet, and worked with elvhen crafters to enchant it. This is what they present to Sabina.
