Tiger is only trans because Horikoshi said so. There was nothing ahout it in the anime or the manga, other than a quick tidbit because he wants to seem woke without outting in any effort
Its the ‘dumbledore is gay’ and we all know it

You can say that when we have another living-openly trans character. Magne was the only trans woman we had, however poorly executed, and she was only there to die, gruesomely. Lgbt+ die so often in shows-so much more often than their straight cis counterparts that Bury Your Gays is a very real, gruesome thing.
And none of the other villains died. None of the other heroes died. Just her. Just her, after a detailed point about her transness.
