I feel like not enough people talk about how Magna Centipede is the first to be completely mentally forced to be a maverick (I say mentally forced because Storm Eagle exists)

it's said that he was kidnapped in a base raid and reprogrammed to go maverick and in a world where the robots are more human than ever before basically means he was completely brainwashed to become a cold killer

This was in X2 back before the virus stuff was a big deal so all the bosses had their own personal reason to be a maverick and being bad was a conscious decision for all of them except for Magna.

He was the first.
