Fresh on our radar is an otherworldly Finnish-Icelandic artist named Magnea, whose unfurled a fittingly mesmerizing music video for her very first single, Profil. The singer songwriter pairs dynamic pulsing electronica with willowy vocals and elegant, hypnotic pop on the finely nuanced single, produced by Maral Salmassi. The bassy jam, which channels shades of Disclosure and AlunaGeorge, befits both an opaque club jam or a late night solo dance frenzy in your bedroom. It’s dark and heady, sinuous and icy, and it leaves us ravenous for more from the enigmatic newcomer. Though Profil is Magnea’s official debut, a quick trip down the rabbit hole (or rather, an exploration of her official website, here) lead us to gorgeously transfixing Lucky, which waxes mysterious, tormented, and sensual, like FKA Twigs and Sevdaliza.
