OkAy so, the au is named magnet au because dib is like a paranormal magnet (more on that later)

Zim and gir are both irkens, zim was exiled to foodcourtia were he met gir. Zim is much more skittish and quiet than show zim and gir, well he’s gir. Zim “quits” his exile but instead of interrupting operation doom two he just runs away and Gir comes with. They end up on earth and try to blend in, zim genuinely enjoys earth because of how much it differs from irks military way of life. He and gir attend skool (that both have good disguises) were zim ends up in the same class as dib.

Dib is like a paranormal hot spot and has been his whole life, when he was a child he was amazed and excited by the paranormal but that soon stops after he trusted a few bad cryptids. Hes in highskool so hes 15-16 and done with life. He avoids the paranormal as much as possible but mothman breaking into your house just to steal a lamp doesnt help his social life, for the longest time his only friend was gaz. So he was understandably excited when zim came around, finally a friend! (Maybe more 👀)

Gaz is involved with things like the swollen eyeball network to try and help her brother, this proves useful in some cases.
