how i feel about his character:

u know becky.... U Know......... he’s my favourite mass effect character by far and i love him so so so much. like, the whole archetype of “doctor/scientist who’s lifework is something incredibly ethically dubious but they’re only able to see the full impact and implications after an Incident makes them see the world as more than a theoretical or set of data they’re removed from so they are willing to sacrifice their entire life to fix their mistake” is my catnip anyway but mordin is just SO good and even just thinking about him makes me wanna cry.... HE JUST WANTED TO STUDY THE SEA SHELLS...... ;_____; WHY ARE ALL MY FAVOURITE CHARACTERS DEAD

uuuuh. idk what opinions are popular or unpopular tbh, my ME experience is pretty limited to me and my friends. igss my unpopular opinion is that he’s the best squad mate and best character in the entire game full stop and i would die for him

one thing i wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

like, i understand why and i think it was a fitting end for his narrative arc but also? i hate bioware

his death is my favourite bioware death tbh bc it’s not just done for dramatic effect but it fits so well in his entire arc & the general narrative, both of him & ME in general & that’s also why his death always hits me the hardest?? I love to suffer

sooooo true. like, legion’s death scene is incredibly well written and hits me for that reason (”does this unit have a soul?” is still heartbreaking every time) but all in all his death is marred by the frustration you feel at it-- it didn’t feel like his story was completed or his death earned. it just felt like death for death’s sake. and i suppose thane would have prepared to go down swinging rather than waste away but his death scene felt so preventable, too.

i am actually very happy with anderson’s and shepard’s deaths personally because i think they’re both fitting for their narrative arcs and characters, at least with regards to my shepard...

but mordin for sure has the most satisfying build up and is soul rending because of it. not to mention the specific way they executed it... :( i will never be able to laugh at the “i am the very model of a scientist salarian” scene in ME2 ever again :((( (though finding the pad in the citadel DLC that’s full of his dumb little whacky recordings and then it hits you with him singing the second verse of amazing grace out of nowhere was sheer evil too tbh)

idk if you've already solved it buut there should be an option to clear your ip with your firewall like. I used to have that problem with my internet as well & I basically just had to tell my firewall that, no, my wifi isn't a virus. but idk how it works with mcafee tbh

Thanks! I just tried resetting my ip in the command prompt because I have no idea how to do it in the firewall - turns out my mcafee is just web protection so I just have the standard windows firewall still - and well while I still have a pretty bad connection (I might have always had bad connection for all I know though cause the icon has all five bars and then I click on it and it’s actually two....) it seems to be staying stable for now at least... thanks though!! :)
