Maia got microchipped today, thanks to @windycityrescue’s little fundraiser. She wasn’t the happiest but apparently did soooooo good for the ladies, and she sat in her open bag the whole ride home with no problems. Maia is such a crazy kitten these days. And Maggie and her are still absolute best friends. They are such a good match. #maiameows https://www.instagram.com/p/CFqnLh5lmsb/?igshid=1ias1h3720ttq
What?!! It’s allllllll natural?! Yes, you heard that right, folks! This kitty litter is eco-friendly, and very, very kitty-friendly 😻 Why we love it: ~ Made of all natural walnut shells ~ Produced in a solar-powered facility ~ Biodegradable ~ Non-toxic (which is so important for an animal that grooms themselves as often as cats do) ~ Walnut shells have the natural ability to absorb and control up to seven times more odour than your average litter ~ Virtually dust and tracking-free There are so many positive things that we’ve been enjoying about @NaturallyFreshcatlitter and it has literally been a game-changer. Go give it a go 😽 #maiameows https://www.instagram.com/p/CHlFVannaEK/?igshid=1np3df0rira1e
When I’m with you, I’m feline good. #maiameows Ft. my love in awful lighting 😍 https://www.instagram.com/p/CFMCqXPFCwY/?igshid=1s4511ya2b5pn
We’ve been using this kitty litter for about two weeks now, and I can honestly say they all enjoy it. @naturallyfreshcatlitter is litter made out 100% out of almond shells, and is non-toxic, in case of any accidental ingestion. It holds in smell quite nicely, which is good because this little girl (Maia) is a smelly one! Highly recommend this litter! And I think Maia can agree. #maiameows #ad https://www.instagram.com/p/CDxPibnlT0U/?igshid=1a0srdfqpvf8p
I should probably write an update about my girl. It’s a good one. She has been treated with antibiotics for her parasite and is getting better, if not completely better now. She is playing like crazy, loving like crazy and is back to her old self. It was a scary time for us, but she’s back 🥰 I love this crazy thing. She turns six months old tomorrow!! I’m sorry for not posting this last while. I’ve lacked motivation to take photos, to post, and in general to be on social media a bunch lately. Logan and I are going camping with Maggie tomorrow for his birthday, so I hope to have some new photos of her then! #maiameows https://www.instagram.com/p/CDK5cfNFX1m/?igshid=1telykqnla51u
So just a little update for those who are wondering. I took Maia back to her lovely vet because her condition just wasn’t looking better at all. They gave her more fluids, and analyzed her blood under the microscope. Maia has Feline Hemotrophic Mycoplasmosis, caused by a parasite in her blood. She is now on another set of antibiotics to treat for the next three weeks. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. Please continue to keep her in your prayers as she recovers. 🥰 #maiameows https://www.instagram.com/p/CCcbdPtlcHd/?igshid=g06i0dqa3fdl
We knew something was up when our normally mischievous kitty wasn’t so mischievous. Maia has the loudest purr I’ve ever heard a cat possess. She is insanely brave and curious, always getting into mischief. She is a little piggy, always barrelling towards you if you have treats, etc. But for the last two days... she wasn’t. Our thoughts were, as new kitten parents, “Hey, maybe she’s finally starting to calm down.” Unfortunately not. We rushed Maia to the vet last night. After being given fluids and having a blood and urine panel done, we don’t know exactly what’s up. However, they gave her an injection of metacam, as well as sent her home with a week’s worth of aventiclav. She’s already eating, purring and kneading her blankey. This was easily the most we have spent at the vet for one visit this far. Given the times, this will be a financial hit. If you are in southern Alberta, and are looking for a pet and/or family photographer, feel free to shoot me a message. I will be picking up extra bookings to help alleviate the financial stress a bit. #maiameows https://www.instagram.com/p/CCadOzfl9TW/?igshid=ltpr62ot1958
