Imagine being freed and Irmo returning you to the light
(This is an continuation for Imagine Mairon manipulating you to his side. You might wanna read it first. I thought giving it a wholesome ending after all the angst.)
Warnings; Angst at first, but don’t worry. It will get better in the end. Irmo being fluff and wholesome. ---------------------------------------------------------------
-It was finally over.
-The ring that sustained Mairon’s life got destroyed, so his spirit scattered as his tower fell.
-You couldn't help but cry with relief. After years of torture and servitude under Mairon’s cruelty, he was finally gone.
-You should have done something to stop the hobbits, but you didn’t. You wanted to be free.
-It was almost ironic. You have betrayed many people in your life, but now you have betrayed Mairon on purpose.
-Unfortunately, living in the darkness and constant pain has exhausted your strength and spirit.
-You were slowly dying, so you used your remaining strength to fly to one last place, Celebrimbor’s grave.
-The elves never managed to retrieve his body from the banner, so you buried him in a secret place even Mairon didn’t know about. It was all you could do for him.
-Your strength faded when you arrived at the place.
-You didn’t even have the strength to turn entirely back, so you laid there with your wings and scattered feathers which had already begun to fade in color. Once black raven feathers, now fading grey.
-Your ravens and crows cawed and flew around as they watched you.
-You remembered all the good moments you had with Celebrimbor and all the good things you could have if you weren’t a coward and allowed Mairon to influence you to his side.
-You silently wept as you remembered the day you betrayed Celebrimbor like it was yesterday.
-You wished nothing more than repay everything that happened to him, but that was most unlikely with your current state.
-The valars will not take you back, and your fea is too weak to exist anymore.
-You are going to die, and fade from existence, so you will never have a chance to apologize and redeem your actions.
-You glanced at the grassy mount and the stones you set up for Celebrimbor. Shedding your last tears, you apologized and bid him goodbye as death finally claimed you.
-Your two ravens landed beside you, cawing in sorrow. They rubbed their head against you affectionately for the last time. They knew your fate as your body lay cold, so they mourned in saddened tones.
-All the ravens and crows sat in the trees quietly, bowing their heads and remaining silent as they mourned for their former master.
-The grassy hill was then filled with mist, and white and silvery moths appeared, flying around.
-The dark feathered birds were startled when a new being appeared before your body, dressed in light colors and having a gentle expression on his face.
-His eyes softened as he looked down upon your lifeless body.
-” Oh, how long have you suffered, old friend?” His gentle voice graced the silence as he crouched beside you.
-Your two ravens were calm as they knew him. He was Irmo, your former master.
-He picked you up gently, your body puffing into dark mist upon his touch, slowly changing you into a pure white raven.
-He cradled you in his arms, smiling like reuniting with his lost child. He petted you gently as your fea was sustained by his own.
-” It’s alright now,” Irmo whispered. Your ravens sat upon his shoulders, looking at your form with wonder. They remained silent as they didn’t dare to awake you, but they purred in gratitude. Irmo smiled and looked at them. “Let us return home,” He said, disappearing into the mist with the ravens and moths.
-The valar of dreams brought you to his gardens, where he allowed you to rest upon the highest trees. He watched over you and weaved good dreams. He made sure your fea would not be bothered by nightmares.
-Your ravens and birds often watched over you while serving Irmo during your absence. He cared for them and in return, they aided him as dream bearers. They ate away the nightmares from troubled dreamers and brought them to him. It was their original purpose, after all.
-Many wondered about the mystery behind these birds when they crossed ravens in the gardens of Lorien, and some say they saw a white raven slumbering upon the highest tree.
-It was curious, but no one questioned it as Irmo only smiled and told them to let it rest.
-You slumbered for a long time. Irmo didn’t mind and was patient as he knew your fea needed to gain strength. You may sleep as long as you like. There was no rushing. And he will make sure your dreams were filled with nothing but light and happiness.
-You slowly awakened when you felt light and strength lift your eyes. You were confused as you awoke upon the nest. You remember your death, and you couldn't change forms for some reason.
-You were frightened by Irmo’s appearance after he noticed your awakening.
-He spoke to you softly and was seemingly happy that you awakened after a long time. He was kind enough to explain how he brought you back to the blessed lands.
-Many would have felt happy, but you felt ashamed.
-You have done horrible things and caused a lot of pain, and here you were staining the sacred land with your presence.
-You asked him to punish you. You were not worthy to stand in his presence after you betrayed him and killed one of your brethren.
-Irmo only looked at you with a smile and told you he had forgiven you for a long time.
-He was ashamed that he wasn’t there when you needed someone in your direst need of help, and it pained him to watch how you continued to suffer in middle earth, lost and making haste decisions without guidance.
-He apologized for that, but you felt guilt.
-You always made people suffer, and now your former master was apologizing.
-However, Irmo then said the other valars will forgive you if you return to serve and help the elves from here on out. Your current form and lack of powers shall work as a punishment.
-But if you serve him well and redeem yourself. You will gain some of them back as a reward.
-You were emotional and couldn't help but tackle him for a hug, accepting the offer a hundred times. Your wings wrapped around his neck while you were crying with joy you had not felt for ages.
-Irmo smiled and gently hugged you back. Your ravens cawed with joy.
-You then served him for many years. You fly around Aman, delivering herbs and medicines for those in need and standing on guard for nightmares.
-You became a little fairy tale story thanks to your white raven form. Elves tell if you see a white raven, it will protect you from nightmares and deliver medicine from Este herself, which was true.
-You didn’t mind the long flights or the hard work of keeping nightmares away. You were happy because you didn’t need to hurt or spy on anyone. Not anymore.
-And at the end of the days, Irmo allows you to rest and even sit on his shoulder. He would tell you good stories that happened during your absence, and you two would have long conversations about minor things.
-You didn’t mind because you were just happy to be in his presence.
-After some time, you did regain your ability to change form. Only into your humanoid-like form, nothing else. You had a pale appearance, and your hair mostly remained white like in your raven form.
-It took a lot of time to reconnect with those who knew you simply because you were still afraid and avoided confrontation.
-You might have done a lot of good lately, but it was hard to forget the past, and you self-reflect most of the time.
-Surprisingly, one day, you encountered the maia you accidentally killed. It was shocking because they have been alive for a long time and doing well. The valars managed to find a way to undo your petrification, which was a shock because you were never aware it was possible to undo. You always hated your ability because you didn’t know how to turn them back.
-You felt guilty, but then they apologized.
-They had forgiven you for the longest time because before you accidentally killed them with your power, they bullied and maimed you to snap. You had some problems with stress and emotions before and when you were in distress. They took the chance to taunt and mock you rather than help you deal with your problem.
-They felt guilty because their death was the cause of your downfall and suffering in middle earth.
-You felt confused at first, but you were glad because it gave you a chance to make up for what happened in the past, and you were able to let go of your guilt.
-You two ended up as close friends, and Irmo was incredibly proud of you and might have crushed you two with a hug.
-Things were looking up for you, and you slowly learned to forgive yourself, thanks to Irmo and your friends and ravens.
-Until one day, the one you wronged came.
-Celebrimbor was having a simple walk till he saw two familiar ravens.
-There was something oddly familiar about them, so he decided to follow them to the gardens of Lorien while trying to remember where he had seen them before.
-You were talking with your friend until you noticed the familiar dark-haired elf coming closer.
-Your heart panicked, and you looked around for a hiding place till you jumped into a tree before he could notice you. A couple of leaves fell from the tree you were in, and you held your breath as you watched Celebrimbor walk under you.
-There he was, alive and well.
-He stared at your ravens, then chatted a little with your friend, who was curious about your odd behavior but was kind enough to play ignorance to avoid revealing your presence to the elf.
-You missed his voice and almost melted when he spoke fondly about a dear friend he had during his life in middle earth, a lovely fellow who was friends with ravens and crows.
-Guilt struck your heart when you heard him mention that he never knew what happened to that friend. He hoped they were doing alright.
-When Celebrimbor finally left, your friend approached the tree and looked up to you, asking about your relationship with that elf.
-You melted against the tree, struck with guilt while you told them your story with Celebrimbor.
-Your ravens looked at you with pity and tried to comfort you.
-However, after that incident. Celebrimbor suddenly decided to visit the garden more often, following your ravens and birds while you tried to hide from him.
-He wanted to figure out the odd feeling he kept having. You tried to avoid him, but even with Irmo’s help, it was hard to sate his curiosity and make him leave.
-You didn't want to hide, but you were too afraid to face him after what happened. He didn’t even know that it was your fault that Eregion fell.
-Irmo tried to be supportive, but he began encouraging you to confront the elf.
-You wished to confront him, but your cowardly self didn’t allow that.
-One day, you were trying to enjoy the peace while your mind filled with scenarios that could happen if you decided to confront Celebrimbor. It made you anxious and deaf to someone approaching you from behind.
-Your heart stopped when you heard Celebrimbor say your name and stare at you like he saw a ghost.
-It took all of your willpower not to run away and hide, so you just took a deep breath and faced him. It was time to stop being a coward.
- “ Is that you,(Name)?” He asked as he slowly approached you, taking in your appearance, making you nervous. You silently sucked a breath and finally used your voice. “Hey…” You almost cringed. It sounded way too timid.
Celebrimbor’s eyes widened when he heard your voice and stopped. “You are a maia?” He questioned in disbelief. “I always was,” You answered. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you the truth,” You said, looking at him with guilt.
He only smiled. “It’s alright. I’m just glad,” He said. “I thought something terrible happened to you since I couldn't find you,” He added. “I know…” You said, feeling guilt because of the truth of your disappearance. “I just left,” You spoke.
“I’m sorry,” You whispered.
Celebrimbor was quiet for a moment. “It was wise of you to leave. Because if you heard what happened. Things got rough in Eregion. It turned out everyone was right about Annatar, or Sauron since Annatar wasn’t his real name,” He smiled. You almost frowned.
“You look well,” He said. “I presume you’re the little white raven people spoke about?” He questioned with a smile. “Is it bad?” You asked, feeling uncertain about your appearance since you used to look different in his eyes. “Of course not, I just thought,” He said with a chuckle.
“Sorry…” You looked down. “No, there’s no need to apologize,” He said. “But I am curious, though. Have you possibly been avoiding me?” He asked. You almost jumped and tried to think of an explanation. “What makes you think that?” You asked back. “Well, Huginn and Muninn had to belong to someone I know,” He chuckled and pointed at your two ravens, who were watching from a tree. “They have been leading me around until they brought me to you,” Celebrimbor added.
You stared at them with disappointment and betrayal.
-Luckily, your encounter that day went well.
-You started seeing each other and simply enjoyed each other’s company like all those years.
-Irmo watched from the side. He wanted to see if everything was going well and encouraged you to keep talking with Celebrimbor. It was your chance to make peace with the past.
-However, if things get out of hand, he wants you to call out for him, and he will deal with the rest.
-You felt comforted and also uncertain. Seeing your master in the background while Celebrimbor was unaware didn’t sound like a good idea. Is this how children with protective parents felt?
-You did heed your master’s advice and kept talking with Celebrimbor. Even though; watching your master hide and spy on you two felt a little awkward.
-Things with you and Celebrimbor soon got better. He often visited the gardens to see you, and you see him as a raven during your flights.
-You felt happy to be around him again and sure enough to tell Irmo to stop spying on you because now it just felt embarrassing. You were not a newborn.
-Things might have grown that your old feelings for the elf came back.
-You were hesitant to show them because of what happened last time, but Celebrimbor didn’t make it easy.
-You two often spoke about the fond things that happened in the past. You two especially missed your little human friend who helped you two together. Celebrimbor wasn’t sure what happened to them and thought they perished during the fall of his land. He felt guilty about it, so you told him your little human friend lived a good life and even had some descendants
-You knew because you took them away before the attack and left them in a safe settlement.
-You felt disappointed with yourself because you wanted to admit the truth to him.
-When he described his experience during the fall of eregion. It seemed he wasn’t aware that you had a part in it.
-Playing ignorance felt painful, but Irmo advised it might be for the best at the moment. You should tell Celebrimbor the truth when the time feels right.
-It didn’t leave your mind for a while, and you constantly thought about the moment when you have to tell Celebrimbor the truth and face his possible anger and rejection.
-You were scared but decided you would prepare yourself. You will not run away this time.
-You love being in Celebrimbor’s presence, hoping to see him smile every day. It brings you joy, so you enjoy it while it last before you eventually confess to him the truth.
