After she orchestrated the death of her master, Darth Serapis, Lord Syncletica was nonetheless denied the title of Darth and struggled to hold on to his vast holdings. The Dark Council, doubting her devotion to the dark side, tested her resolve with this slight and left her open to endless attacks.

Several lords seized the opportunity to challenge the heir of the Amduat line, forcing her again and again to defend the inheritance of her dark legacy. They each underestimated the enduring lessons of her master’s torments.

One of them, Lord Avarit, forced two intelligence agents to steal Darth Serapis’ holocron to bolster his claim against the lonely heiress. It did not give him the advantage he sought.

Oooh, magic nexu is all too apropos considering that Mai’s professional name is Lord Ailuron and her blazon is a winged cat!

Now I'm imagining Aurek meeting Maiet and being super nervous about meeting a ~proper Sith~, but it ends up with Aurek sitting chin-in-hands listening in rapt fascination as Maiet goes off on nerdrage rants about things. Aurek isn't educated enough to chime in but she's smart enough to follow nerdrage rants and loves listening to people geek out.

AaaaAAAaaa! Mai was the late-blooming baby of a family of dour, dull-minded, spr srs military Sith and doesn’t have many socializing opportunities that aren’t about social climbing, so sincerely paying attention to anything she’s saying is one of the quickest ways to her heart.

If Aurek had questions about anything that she mentioned, she would probably walk away from the conversation with an armful of books and other resources.

If/When Mei and Mai ever meet there’s going to be a lot of nerdy motormouthing about medical stuff, and having had Rev as a patient in common will likely factor in.

But yeah, it’s probably happened more than once. I’m trying to decide things like whether Force-lightning conducts like natural lightning and there’s a risk of collateral damage to anyone else touching the patient, or whether Force-defibrillation, like the conventional version, usually also needs a lot of CPR. 5. How does your character relate to other species? Do they have any particular pride in their own species?

Maiet grew up with a lot of the standard upper-caste Imperial assumptions of human/Red Sith superiority, and the one counterexample available to her was New Imperial sympathizers, who fetishized aliens’ capacity for violence and willingness to be commanded. She’s still got an average-or-better load of implicit prejudice that she’s struggling to correct on a daily basis. 

10. Who is your character most loyal to, and what shaped that loyalty?

Revjan has had uncountable opportunities to leave her for dead, pawn her off to whichever rival is offering the best rate on a given weekday, or failing that, to assert that he’s keeping her alive because his most reliable revenue stream originates from her. She more or less tried to get him to admit to at least one of those, because chronic backstabbing disorder is her only frame of reference for how interpersonal interaction works, and “circumspect” isn’t quite the adequate word for how well he hides emotion and intention.

He hasn’t. So he’s stuck with her for good.

15. What is the most harmless thing your character is afraid of?

Being adjudged less intelligent, less discerning, or less refined in taste than she actually is, by people she doesn’t care about.
