I want to link you guys to the 30th anniversary video for the website Rumic World, which I refer to frequently as Furinkan (its URL). These guys have been doing amazing work organizing, cataloging and translating Rumic content for decades. I know I have relied on them tremendously over the years and I want to support them! The Rumiko Takahashi community can feel surprisingly small on the English-speaking web and they deserve some recognition.
I think the chapters of Maison Ikkoku where Godai has a dream sequence of Kyoko having a romantic and sexual relationship with her white fluffy dog that goes on for like 5 pages is proof that the concept for Inuyasha was percolating in Takahashi's brain long before 1996

You ever sit back and just think about a story that changed your life in a way that when you reread it you fall in love with it all over again?
That's me with Maison Ikkoku by Rumiko Takahashi.
There's just something about it, this simple romantic comedy that's slice of life. This feeling of seeing fellow adult characters go through life and its hardships, its ups and downs and somehow find their paths in life and figure things out. Like I love it man. It's such a good series.
