I heard someone say in a video review that 77 being given the ability to talk ruined the 'charm' of his character, but like.... what?? 77's dialog ws literally one of the most charming details in the film. What r we even talking abt 😭
Lowkey a rant but I am genuinely so sick of how infantilized 7723 is in the fandom. Like ppl see this really loving protector and immediately go to make him a 'twink' while shipping him w Ares and making him the girl in the relationship at that - And I LIKE Are23, but ohhh my Godddddd that ship is so overrated now and I am so goddamn sick of it that even hearing abt it makes me mad. If you ask me, the fandom has completely ruined the meaning of 77's character and turned him into a completely different person, and it makes me so goddamn mad y'all have no idea, esp since the feminization of him because of the SOLE fact that he is a loving and caring person ties SO deeply into misogyny I can't even BEGIN to get into it
I recently made a brand new Next Gen OC, and I wanted to explain his lore a bit since I'm bored and want an excuse to talk abt him
Sergeant Bud is one of the thousands of other Ares models shipped off by I.Q Robotics when they were first getting their company started up, which they managed by building and selling thousands of robots intended for war to the government, who gave them the funding for their robotics company in return. The Ares we know in the film was the first ever one, which Justin chose to keep.
Bud is a high ranking member of the Grainland militia, being named Sergeant due to his many successful carry outs when assigned missions, but, during one, a chain of events leads the bot to go 'rogue', or, that's how the military describes it.
