This year's #Inktober is about #Palestine.
Day 21: Majdal was a coastal Palestinian village, famous for the tradition of "majdawali weaving", supplying all of Palestine (and wider) with fabrics for traditional outfits. Today, the village doesn't exist anymore - it has been destroyed and replaced by the Israeli city of Ashkelon. The tradition still persists among a few displaced artisans, if their looms have not yet been destroyed in the bombings. This painting was referenced from an old postcard of Majdal.
