“They told me you were smart. What they didn’t tell me is that you’re attractive too,” Tubbs confides with a pleased smile. “What brings you over to the Vice Department?”

Poised with a drink nearly pressed to her velvet lips, Anna surrenders a small smile. “Well, it sounds like you host many of them,” she casually remarks in return. Its a guess. “Tell me, Major, if we are at war, how do you have so much time for this?” Anna pries gesticulating towards the room with her free hand. “And they are such lavished affairs…” She couldn’t help but point out the obvious before taking a sip of her drink.
“Ah,” she exclaims at his introduction. “Major Andre, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.” Her hand is offered in his direction. The name sounded familiar. Where had she heard it before? The intelligence officer?! No it couldn’t be. “Miss Smith.” Its an alias. One designed to protect her true identity. The name itself is not a lie- it had belonged to her long before the name Mrs. Strong had. “Do you oft invite so many soldiers?” Glancing around the room, she could only assume the identities of the other guests. One was a friend of the Woodhull’s but the rest were only vaguely familiar.

“You’ve summoned me, Major?” Abigail breathed, her voice wavering with uncertainty.

A sense of nervous trepidation takes over the spy as the brunette pours the Major a tankard of ale. “Y.. you say there are... spies? Here? In the colonies?” She places as much emphasis as she can on the words to imply complete surprise. Internally, she is well aware of their truth.
Worse still, she is even more aware that she is one of the ones that he seeks. Tempting fate and testing the waters a little too eagerly she asks,“have you any idea who they might be?”

Hannah found herself trembling as she approached the Major’s office. She knows the Meeting had forbidden any Quakers from visiting or tending to the rebel prisoners in occupied Philadelphia. But her dearest twin brother Robert had found himself in the newest prison.
“Major?” She starts, her voice rising almost timidly. “May I trouble thee for a pass to the prison?” She knows that General Howe had implemented an anti-visitation policy. But Hannah didn’t really want to help the rebels even if that is what Jeremiah Jones wanted her to do. What she really wanted was her twin brother to be alive and well. She didn’t care if the rest of her family had turned against him.
"behind bars" (from Abigail)
It was late morning and John had finally fallen asleep on the small uncomfortable cot in the corner of his prison cell when he heard a familiar voice. He opens his eyes sitting up to see Abigail grasping the bars of his cell with a rebel guard by her side. A crooked half smile spreads across his face as he stands to go to the bars to greet her. "Abigail, my dear, what are you doing in this horrible place?" He looks around and sighs shaking his head. "I do believe I have gotten myself into trouble."

Did you ever love me?
(Do not panic. I have it in my drafts to give you the same kind of thread with your Hewlett @maj-john-andre)
Her heart comes to an abrupt stop at the inquiry in front of the party. The dull thunder shows no sign of return as her breath catches in the back of her throat. Muscles grow rigid with the burden of undesired attention now thrust on her. Maple hues shift with unease as do her feet. “Love you, Major?” She repeats the question with tension rising in her chord. A pause is inserted for maximum effect.
Color stains into the depths of her cheeks as she closes the gap between him. Fingers delicately press to his chest, a deliberate placement over his heart. “Do you think me so cruel as to play with your feelings?” Anna ponders. Her gaze locking fully on him. It’s a non-answer and she knows it. However, she hopes that it will take some of the heat off the line of questioning. Yet, in a way it was begging him for his assessment of her.
