Simcoe and Major Andre hardly ever saw eye-to-eye. The former often employed much more brutal tactics that drove the point home. The latter was all finesse. However, in this particular argument, Simcoe knew which side he was on.
Benedict Arnold was disliked by all. Friends and enemies alike. And he didn’t seem to comprehend that Andre was beloved by most and with good reason. Even Simcoe, himself, held some admiration for the man, despite their differences. Between the two men standing in the room with him, he had no problem following orders from one and had to be somewhat manipulative towards the other, after all.
Andre had turned his back on Arnold to pour himself a drink when the lesser man pulled his pistol. Simcoe quickly drew his own weapon as he pushed the Major out of the line of fire. Unfortunately, this meant that Simcoe was shot in the shoulder as he was lifting is arm to fire, causing him to pull the trigger in the process. As both men fell to the ground, Simcoe heard Arnold yell, “UNBELIEVABLE! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN AGAIN?!”
From his position, sitting upright and gripping his right shoulder at the wound, Simcoe saw that his erratic shot had hit Arnold in the same leg that had been injured three times before. Even bleeding and in pain, this made him laugh, as Andre stood looking on.
My darling Peggy @andressecretweapon
Finally I am able to write to you. I won't get into the details but it has been brutal. War is ugly my love. I do hope it is over soon and we are able to restore peace to this land. I am well my darling, please don't worry your pretty little head about that, just a few scrapes and bruises. You would give me a good scolding though. I was not able to sleep so I sat up most of the night outside of my tent looking at the stars. I drank all night and now my head is splitting. Don't be too angry with me love, sometimes it is the only way a man can ease his mind. The things I've seen, the things I've had to do..but, I said no more talk of that, but Peggy, it troubles me greatly. I long to be in your arms again. You could make me forget. The General is calling me my darling. I'll write again as soon as I am able.
With all my love,
John
Has no one ever done a moodboard for André? And why not! Reblog for a moodboard for John André. He deserves one or two or three or.....
John Andre’s body hung in silence for thirty minutes before being taken down. It was placed carefully in a simple open coffin crudely painte
Andre was the personification of a new breed of British officer.
By the late Regency, Andre’s name had become a byword for fidelity.

The Battle of Brandywine, in which we kick rebel arse! 🇬🇧
"I'd like to petition for Selah Strong's release from the Jersey." (random meme starter)
"Good morning, won't you have a seat?" he motions to the chair in front of his desk giving her his full attention. "May I offer you something to drink? I believe Abigail has just made a fresh pot of tea. Then we can get down to business."
