Majosha - Shut Up and Listen to Majosha (1989)
really like Deal With It and Kalamazoo. despite being a Ben Folds fan, don't know Emaline. like, know it enough to go; 'yes, i see what this will become', but not enough to listen to the more recent version.
on the other hand, the version of Video is real weird, and i like it.
think i will use my recently acquired cd burning tech to acquire a physical copy of it. it'd fit well alongside my other burnt ones, the Mouth albums, the Musical duology by Psynwav, and a disc of songs not on spotify.
am aware that it says it's by POTs & PANs, but fuck that, Majosha's a better name, especially for my limited understanding of SEO.
Majosha- Shut Up and Listen to Majosha: I was searching through Ben Folds’ Wikipedia page recently for some reason when I noticed mention of a band he’d been in the 80’s. TheyR…
Day 26 of the #OctoberVinylChallenge is ‘Shocking Find’. This is the pride and joy of my vinyl collection; the record I never thought I’d own. Majosha’s 'Shut Up and Listen to Majosha’. Released in 1989, this was the first recorded works of Ben Folds. (Besides a 4-track EP recorded a year before.) Folds would go on to use three tracks on this album for future releases: Emaline, Video, and Kalamazoo. I’m absolutely in love with this record and actually prefer the versions of said tracks on this album, compared to the later releases. Patience paid off for this one as it showed up on Discogs one day for $40. I couldn’t believe it when it showed up as never being opened before.

To add to the rarity of this album, this thing shows up new mint, sealed in package. NEVER BEEN OPENED?! It also doesn't have the 'Pots and Pans' sticker on it! Where did this record come from and where has it been sitting the last 25 years?! (To be honest, it feels a little wrong that I have this now.)
I just bought the Majosha album on vinyl for $40?! I'm seriously freaking out right now.
