Makare
A band with a bright, positive attitude in their work, Fijian group Makare’s original aim in 2013 was to revive classic iTaukei sounds and songs for a new generation. Since then, they have been busy promoting the ‘sound of Fiji’ with a series of YouTube videos and tours in both Fiji and New Zealand. Their goal is to help “Fijians to go back to a place in time during their life journey where they experienced pure joy and happiness through the music”.

Makare's four band members bring back to life old Fijian songs, such as this one, Pakiakia.
