Shima Celestine Albarn
Maka and Black Star’s third born daughter. Her full name is Hoshimari, and her namesake comes from a combination of Maka’s middle name, Annamarie, and Black Star’s name; Tsubaki tried to steer both parents to better Japanese names but failed. Shima’s other nicknames includes Aka-tama and Kuroushi, the latter being a sake brand. She has very strong familial bonds and is extremely protective of her family. Like the other siblings, she is ¾ Japanese and identifies as Japanese-American. She’s bilingual in Japanese, and perfects the language with Tsubaki’s tutelage. Shima is the sole weapon with genes inherited from Spirit. She displays her abilities very early on in her infancy years and is extremely prideful of the fact. As the youngest child, everyone loves to care for her, especially Gramps Spirit and Uncle So-so, who fight over the role of being her godfather.
Personality
She is incredibly independent and tries not to rely much on others, although she learns to accept support from her family when necessary. She is also emotional and hot-headed, wearing her heart on her sleeve and always pursuing what makes her happiest. While she loves her siblings and is very physically affectionate, Shima has been waddling after Soul since she could walk, idolizing his skill and stories of his past accomplishments with her mama. Shima is the energetic wrecking ball of a girl that everyone believed Selene would be. She is more sly than her siblings and is not above selling items and her gramps’ and uncle’s signatures for plane tickets. Java laughs and gives tips.
Appearance
Shima was born with tomato-red hair, just like her gramps. Once she grows older, she dyes the short tips ombre white, spikes it up, and sports a side shave with her red roots showing. Her teal eyes match Spirit’s, and her weapon genes carried spiky teeth which she refuses to file down. As a child, she was very drawn to pink and frilly outfits, but eventually moves onto more edgy and punk clothes. This doesn’t mean she’s given up on dresses and glitter because pink can be the most punk of all. Shima is talented with make up and never leaves the house with at least eyeliner. She also hides her already faint freckles with either foundation or concealer depending on how much effort she wants to put in. On the shaven side of her head, a silver drop earring in the shape of a cross is on full display.
Skills
She is a scythe weapon and masters minor transformations at an early age. With miscellaneous skills like lockpicking and toast buttering already in check, Shima practices with creative transformation and unique fighting forms. She often spars with her siblings in both her human form and partial weapon form, sometimes even fighting when Marco and Selene aren’t wielding weapons of their own. They all hope to be able to hold on their own, as reckless as it is. Shima seeks strong people to fight as well and pesters Patty at odd hours, hopeful that her aunt will be willing to entertain her.
Partner
Shima is a self-wielding weapon. Although she generally works alone, she is able to be wielded by her parents and siblings and refuses to let anyone else touch her, calling them unworthy. She draws a lot of her motivation and inspiration from not only her family and Soul, but also Justin before he was drawn to Noah’s group. To be the best, she will surpass even the gods.

Here’s my entry for day 1 ! I hope it’s not too corny or something, but it’s a brotp ship anyway. I had the idea of him showing her his upgrades from training every time he gets one as children, and since Maka used to idolize him a lot (based on that one chapter in the manga where she saw Blackstar training for the first time) she usually finds them amazing. Ehehe. Now, I know it’s unusual for Blackstar to have big, wide eyes but hey, they’re CHILDREN.
