How to Increase Business Feedback
Business can be extremely difficult, particularly in this day and age – what, with the recent recession and other economic problems. It is important, therefore, to give your customers a service for which they are looking. In order to do this, you need to know what they think of your existing services and products, and how they are meeting their needs. For instance, you may have an exceptional product, but it is lacking a key feature, that means that people do not buy it. In order to overcome the problems you need to know what they are, and in order to know what they are, you need to ask your customers. There are several ways to do this, below we are going to look at some of the most common.

On-Street Surveys
Many of the larger companies will use street-surveys to gauge public opinions. This is when they pay someone (usually a young person, because no one else wants to do it!) to stand on the street and stop people going about their business to ask some questions. On-street surveys can be a great source of information, but there are problems:
People get annoyed beingaccosted in the streets
You have to pay someone to do the survey
You will only reach a certain type of person. For instance, if you do on-street surveys during the week, you may only be talking to people that stay at home all day.
Telephone Surveys
Larger companies, again, will use telephone surveys to conduct their research. These can be extremely helpful because it allows the business to reach a much greater number of people from all walks of life. Again, though, it does have its problems. These include:
A low response rate. Most of these surveys are conducted in the evening, which coincides with people’s relaxation time. People hate to be interrupted, and these types of survey lead to a lot of, shall we say, vocal abuse. It can also cause people to have negative impressions of the business, as they have been annoyed.
It is expensive. You have to pay staff, which are often paid more than minimum wage – especially if you want people that are good at what they do, and this is a skilled job. On top of this, you have to pay large telephone bills. This is why it tends to be the choice for larger companies only, smaller companies simply cannot afford it.
Make a Poll
Since the advent of the internet, the online poll has become increasingly popular. There are many advantages to this type of poll. For instance, there are many free online polling websites that companies can use to make a poll without parting with any money. Free online polling sites can reach the broadest audience and can reach people at all times of the day and night. Problems include:
Getting people to find the survey – you may need to pay for marketing.
Getting genuine results – some people make a sport out of ‘trolling’.
