As Steve looks at Nancy holding Jon's hand in front of his parked car, the realization that he is devastatingly still in love with her crashes down on him like an avalanche. No matter how wrong it is, or how he wishes he wasn't, Steve Harrington loves Nancy Wheeler. He never stopped loving her, even after she broke his heart in Tina's bathroom. It was easy before to push his feelings down, pretend like everything was okay.
Oh shit.
He's in love with Jonathan too. It doesn't make any sense, but he's in love all the same. Their kiss was only meant to be a flight of fancy, nothing more. These past few months have been building to something greater.
Is it possible to love two people at the same time? Ask the Steve Harrington of the past, and he'd have told you no. Now, he's not so sure. It's the shared trauma, he thinks- the bond that comes from fighting monsters together and having each other's backs. Nance and Jon have no idea, do they? The two of them are lost in each other's eyes. It was foolish to think that they could ever feel the same way he felt about the two of them.
Rules: Send me an ask with an emoji and I’ll write 3 to 5 sentences of that WIP. Multiple emojis are encouraged!

Excerpt from Dying Us An Art below.
What am I?” Eddie asks.
Steve sets down the coffee cup on the kitchen table. He’s been putting off this conversation long enough. “Still human, I think.”
Eddie looks at him like he has two heads. “I died, Steve. Saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Me, talking to you right now, it doesn’t make any sense.”
“You get used to it. Coming back from the dead, I mean. The first time is always the toughest.”
“The first time?” Eddie says slowly, the realization gradually hitting him. His eyes go wide. “Steve.”
Steve laughs. “It’s fine, Eddie. November 4, 1984.”
Eddie scrunches up his face, trying to do the math. “That would have been my second go at senior year, which means…..wait. Billy Hargrove? I remember you coming to school all beaten up. Your fight was all anyone could talk about for a week.”
“I don’t think Billy realized what he did, kept on hitting me in the face over and over again. Neither did the kids, to be fair. Next thing I know, I woke up in the back of Billy’s Camaro with Max behind the wheel. They had this plan, you see. Set fire to the hub, so El- the girl with super powers could close the gate without being threatened by demodogs. I thought it was too dangerous, but they went ahead and did it anyway."

Snippet for How A Life Can Move From The Darkness down below.
There’s a knock at the door. “Steve? Can I come in?” Jonathan’s voice asks.
Steve lifts his head up from his knees. His hands are shaking. He doesn’t want anyone to see him like this- battered, beaten, and broken. As his father would say, he’s not a child. He should stop sniffling at once, and act like a man. It’s unbecoming of someone of the Harrington name to show weakness.
Jonathan knocks again, more insistent this time. “I know you’re in there.” A pause. “Please let me in.”
The fact that it's Jonathan out of all of them checking up on him only serves to make Steve feel more guilty. Why should Jonathan Byers, who he’s pretty sure hates him, care about his well being?
Time to face the music. Steve wipes a hand across his tear-streaked face. Takes a big gulp of air, his throat raw from crying and thirst. When was the last time he drank water?
”You can come in,” he says, his voice hoarse.
Jonathan pushes the door open, practically running till he’s next to Steve. He crouches down beside him, face full of worry. “You look like hell.”
∞ I LOVE The Old Guard and it's a great AU for them!
Thank you so much!
∞ Dying Is An Art
"That speech you made about why you had to be the one to find the gate in Lovers' Lake, that was all bullshit?"
Steve flinches, the memories of that night in Tina's bathroom flooding back into the forefront of his mind. "No. Even though I am what I am, I was still the best candidate. Nance, protecting people is what I'm best at. I'm sorry I didn't tell you about my abilities."
"When you were pulled under, I thought you were dead."

Robin walks over to him, taking his hand in hers. "I'm going with you."
"Rob...." He can't bear the thought of losing her, and if this attempt to get Eddie back goes wrong and something happens to her, he'll have nobody to blame but himself. It must be written across his face because Robin tightens her grip on his hand.
"I'm with you till the end of the line, dingus. Don't you dare think of going at this alone and getting yourself killed."
