Focus on today. 💜🖤
good morning🙂↕️🙏🏾
Then I guess we better make today count.
Something Beautiful for day 17
Hello again. I know I failed.
I haven’t posted in quite a few days - meaning that I have already failed my challenge - but I am trying not to think about it like that. To be completely honest, doing this every single day was kind of getting exhausting. I felt like I was trying to force myself to write and that was going against the goal of this project, which was to take it easy and stop being so hard on myself. So I decided to kind of chill out and make some tweaks to the rules - rather than write every day for a year, I’m going to write a years worth, if that makes sense. It’s the poor commitment for me.
Anyways, today I’m going to do something a little different. As someone who wants to be a writer, sometimes I find myself creating little scenarios in my head. It’s nice to think creatively and pass the time in your head, especially on long car rides and when you’re trying to sleep. One thing specifically I like to imagine is this little cabin I live in in the woods sometime in the future. I’ve thought about this quite a lot, and I’ve built on this little by little. So today before I reveal today’s Something Beautiful, I’d like to share this little reality with you, just for laughs.
My list of things that I’m going to have at my cabin in the mountains
My cabin will be in the woods in the mountains in an undisclosed location and only a few select people get to know where it is in case something happens.
I have a hoard of Pomeranians who are trained to defend me.
My cabin is huge and rustic and has a lot of old bay windows.
There is a waterfall and lake nearby and I get to go diving a lot.
There’s an observatory and telescope on the roof.
I wear a lot of comfy flannels and beanies and spend most of my days chopping wood.
I have this big old office where I write a lot.
I have a secret pen name that I write all my books under.
There’s this little town nearby where I drive to on the weekends and I sell my firewood and mail my book ideas to publishers under my alias.
I have this big ass tricked out white jeep that I take into the woods late at night where I hunt cryptids.
I keep a record of these cryptids like the journals in Gravity Falls.
I have a giant aquarium in my house.
I have a bunker under my house. Just in case the cryptids find me.
At Christmas time I deck my house out with lights and decorations and bake a shit ton of cookies, which I will sell at the little town nearby along with my firewood.
I have a ton of plants.
I’m part of a ghosthunting crew and sometimes I let them use my place to set up a base.
During colder months my Pomeranian hoard will have little sweaters and they will be so cute.
I hunt with a bow and arrow.
There is a cabinet in my pantry just for the different kinds of coffee I have.
If they want, a couple of my friends can come with me and make jelly to sell.
I have a ton of blankets laying around my house. Mostly Sherpa.
I read a lot of classic literature.
I go hiking a lot and take pictures.
I have a berry patch behind my house and I grow a lot of raspberries and blackberries.
I have exactly one pug to accompany my hoard of attack Pomeranians. This pug isn’t a trained attack dog, he’s just a pug.
My brothers are the only ones allowed to visit my house.
If at any point I end up getting married, we can get married there and only a few close guests are allowed to attend.
Rock music is constantly playing.
My hypothetical spouse will start a fudge making business and it will smell exquisite at my place all the time.
There are a lot of butterflies all over the place.
I sometimes go looking for dinosaur bones.
I think that’s about it right now. I’m sure the list will grow more. I know this is stupid, but I think it’s funny and I honestly like thinking about it and sharing it with friends. So Today’s Something Beautiful is imagination - and I hope somehow you all have your own version of a cabin in the mountains, if you catch my drift.
That’s all for now, bye my friends - and stan Gravity Falls.
God,
As I step into this new week, I pray you shift my mindset. May I leave the past where it belongs and focus on fresh beginnings. May I make room for the things that truly matter and remove all that doesn’t. I want to be more intentional with You and Myself 🧡
Happy Monday my FANTABULOUS TUMBLR FRIENDS ☺️ Let’s make it good one 😉
