The FDA Recalled These Popular Neutrogena Makeup Wipes Due to a Bacteria Risk

On September 19, 2025, the FDA issued a recall of Neutrogena's Makeup Removing Ultra-Soft Cleansing Towelettes in collaboration with the brand. This revocation was classified as a Class II recall, meaning it's a mid-level concern. As described by the FDA, a Class II recall means that "a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences" or "the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote." Although it is unlikely for the recalled product to cause serious, long-term health effects, there is still a chance of minor issues.

Neutrogena Make up Remover Cleansing Towelettes

Neutrogena is one of my favorite drug store brands for skincare! They just have amazing products with phenomenal results. I love using wipes because they are so easy to use and they remove my make up the quickest. Big plus is they are travel friendly, I just have to toss them into my suitcase when I’m ready to go!

These wipes removes dirt, oil and make up! I never use more than one wipe for my entire face and neck! I don’t have to use a separate make up remover for my eyes anymore! The cloth is ultra soft and the formula is gentle on the skin. So gentle that I can actually rub this cloth on my eye without my eye feeling irritated. Its perfect for anyone that has sensitive skin. The wipes don’t leave my skin feeling dry. Nor does formula leave behind a residue, so I didn’t have to wash my face after.  

Neutrogena kept their normal sealable sticker packaging but they also included a box. I’ve just been buying the refills and using the same box. The refills are about $2 cheaper than buying a box again. I am always at the store picking up refills, I literally use these wipes everyday.

The only downfall as usual the sealable sticker doesn’t stick after a while. Thats why I strongly suggest picking up the one with the box then keep using it and buying refills. But no matter how careless I am at storing these make up wipes, they never dry out.
