Third Wheel
This playlist was made for the Fanworks of Fanworks event, hosted by the DC/Marvel Dingy Pool Noodle Crossover Discord. For the work Third Wheel by Kangofu_CB. It's an awesome story, if you haven't read it.
Anyways, this is the playlist I made. I don't feel like I need to explain myself, and hopefully you'll enjoy!
I’ve fallen down a bit of a quarantine induced Teen Wolf and subsequent Dylan O’Brien rabbit hole. It would seem that a) Stiles is the most interesting character on Teen Wolf and b) Dylan O’Brien plays some version of Stiles in his other movies. I’m here for this.
I said from the jump that I was watching Teen Wolf because I wanted more werewolf fic in my life. So, under the cut you’ll see some of what I’ve enjoyed lately.
There's Something Else in the water today. Moving in the still reflections, the thing bounced from still pool to water droplet to place in between ripples.
When it surfaced, it had no scent, but it smelled of petrichor and the chill of a cold breeze. It was a million old reflections, ice and metal and glass, but also a figure that could be mistaken as human. It climbed out of the reflection in the swamp, choosing to sit nearby.
It doesn't speak, but it lets out a brief hum of an insect as a replacement for the moment. Some old thing that dipped into a pool looking for a drink and never resurfaced.

Something Else sits unbothered by the equally buzzing actual insects - they do not register it as potential food and continue with their miniature guts aching with hunger.
It is almost peaceful, like this. A light breeze upon the grass. The gurgle of water and gas as plants quietly rot beneath the surface. Somewhere, a crane calls. The Hunger of the Swamp creeps up along the edges of its myriad reflections and settles there like condensation, quietly gnawing.
It takes a little while for the Devourer to take note of the new presence, but he eventually does. Its massive head surfaces near Janus with a spray of water from its nostrils, silently eyeing the strange shape that has found its way into his domain.
It Might Be Time For A Contest?
Let’s mix it up a bit. I’m in a teensy-weensy slump and I can’t seem to get a commission to save my soul, SO... How about a contest and you all decide what the prize will be?
Over the next few weeks, I will be making a series of posts. I will first post several photo references, you pick your favorite. I will then post a series of pencil color pallets or types, you pick your favorite. I will then post paper type, you pick your favorite.
I will tabulate all the choices from the winning name [chosen randomly] to create a winning drawing [8x10″] and then draw that photo with those pencils on that paper for the winner. Anyone that contributes to creating a drawing [you must be following me] is eligible to win. The winning name will be chosen at random and I will ship anywhere.
The contest will also be run on my Twitter and Instagram, so follow me and enter there as well to double or triple your chances!
I will begin the selection posts each week on Fridays during the month of December.
Friday, December 6, 2019 will be photo. Friday, December 13, 2019 will be pencil. Friday, December 20, 2019 will be paper.
Contest runs through Dec 31st 2019 and the winning name will be announced on all three social media formats upon the contest completion.
Sound interesting enough?
being disappointed sucks. being lied to sucks even more. hmph.
