here's an idea: maybe government shouldn't be a "career path" for people. maybe we shouldn't enable rich cishet white dudes (and women) who went to harvard or yale to use nepotism, wealth, and privilege to acquire more power for themselves so they can legislate the lives of people without money, connections, or privilege without ever having to live with the consequences of their own decisions. maybe government shouldn't be something people can profit off of. maybe we should have a system of governing that isn't controlled and dictated by money and profit, that isn't predetermined by how much money you can raise to participate in our dystopian version of "democracy." maybe money is a construct established by those who have it as a means for them to maintain control over the lives of everyone on this planet. money isn't going to buy the planet back. money can't fix what capitalism is doing to the environment in the name of questing for infinite profit on a rock comprised of finite resources. your lives should not be dependent on how many scraps of colored paper you have. none of us asked to be born into this system that is designed to benefit people who already want for nothing and will do everything in their power to keep it that way. or maybe i'm just a dirty, crazy CoMmUnIsT for thinking we all deserve to live just as comfortably as jeff bezos does? the world will never know. thanks for coming to my ted talk! 🙃 #stopmakingrichpeoplepresident #makeguillotinesgreatagain #capitalism #yaydemocracy #socialistsaturday #yaycapitalism #tedtalks #yayimperialism #yaypatriarchy #yaynepotism #yaycisheteronormativity #yaywhitepeople #thecaucasity #commieshit #politicalqueen #politicaltop #politicsareadrag https://www.instagram.com/p/B7d-jU2JwmM/?igshid=131d2ao2easye
