An acreage is quite a bit of work. I won’t deny that. But you see, it’s such joyful work. It’s life-giving and very satisfying. One special joy is picking fresh fruit from the tree. My prairie mom used to find such pleasure in travelling to the Okanagan to pick fruit “right from the tree” she exclaimed. She was so excited! Now we get that joy here at Friedensfeld West. This year the apricots did very well. I just picked these two bags until it got too dark to see well enough. There’s a lot more there. Time to make jam and dehydrate them.
