2. how is their social media presence?
Meredith has a minimal social media presence. She’s of the age that saw social media start out with Facebook and then everything that’s come about since. Primarily, she would have a professional Facebook account but would rarely go on it or post anything. Really, it’s to maintain connections in the early part of the 2000′s, but mostly, she uses it in the same way as she would LinkedIn (which she also has). She has a single profile picture and has yet to update a cover photo to it, though she does use it to ‘creep’ on people when she needs to look someone up.
That said, she does know how to use mobile apps on her cell phone, and as such, has also figured out the appropriate use of Tinder for sexual encounters. Other than that, however, Meredith has little to no interest in other social media accounts. No Twitter. No Instagram. Just LinkedIn and Facebook.
4. what do they do for a living, and where do they aspire to go with it?
Meredith originally served in the military for a single tour, and when she returned, joined local law enforcement that followed in her adoptive father’s footsteps. When the opportunity came along to apply to an empty position in Kirkwall’s prison, otherwise known as the Gallows, she was accepted and became the newest, and now, longest standing Prison Warden (or Governor). She aspires to reform the prison to eliminate drug trade and violence, and making sure that criminals are treated appropriately.. as criminals.
6. how technologically savvy are they?
As mentioned, Meredith knows the general basics of how to use a computer and to browse the Internet, as well as using her smartphone. She’s not super tech efficient, though -- she knows to have antivirus but wouldn’t know what to do if something did get into her computer. She does her best to keep her phone updated and knows how to hard restart it if necessary.
She does know to avoid suspicious links and such in her emails and genuinely knows how to use the entirety of the Office Suite for work purposes, but when it comes to the technicalities of the prison technology (e.g. camera, logs etc) she’s not 100% on it and often relies on tech support.
8. describe their closet.
Meredith has several wardrobes in her bedroom and is keen on remodeling one part of her bedroom to become a walk in closet at some point. As for the clothes, she has a lot of neutral-dark clothes for work (black, brown, greys, white dress shirts). But as for her personal outfits when she’s off duty, she tends to go for deep colours, like red, burgundy, navy, hunter green, etc.
Aside from her business attire, she tends to wear clothes that are still mostly ‘dressy’ though she does have some lazy bumming around the house clothes to wear when cleaning and sleeping in.
As for shoes, she has a LOT of shoes - mostly boots and dress shoes for work, but it’s a growing collection so she can pair them with her various outfits for work and going out.
She prefers longer pea coats for colder weather, but refuses to wear a hat or scarf most days, and will rely solely on a hood to keep her hair in place upon arrival.
10. what are things they are more or less open about now compared to their original world?
I’d argue she has to be more ‘open’ and transparent about the goings on the prison than she does in the Circle in game; there are people she has to report to, though she does have a lot of power and control in her prison as the Warden.
Additionally, if any one searches her name on the Internet, the top result is an in-depth story about the serial killer who murdered her family and it describes what happened to her as the only survivor who was then adopted by the officer on the case, Det. Wentworth Kell. So her ‘tragic backstory’ doesn’t take two and a half ‘acts’ to unlock in her modern verse.
