Are you the crafty type or do you want to be? Makers Mess offers a creative space with craft classes for adults and parents with children. Check the schedule for their offerings. Past classes have included cookie decorating, calligraphy, embroidery, gift wrapping, date night doodling, makeup 101, etc. They also have open studio time when you can use their studio space and materials (for a fee).
I attended the embroidery workshop which was well organized and included snacks and drinks. The needed materials were provided and placed at each table setting, plus we were able to take materials home with us. The one instructor was patient and nice but people needed a lot of help so there were times we were sitting around waiting for help…because everyone was a newbie. I did learn a few things and the instruction booklet will help me learn more on my own. I would go again if the craft interested me…
