Me: Brain, what does the name "Mathilda" mean?

Brain: Okay "hilda" always means something with battle. And we can see from this that it's a Germanic name, so we can use Swedish to approximate the meaning of the rest of the name if the word doesn't exist in German. "Mat" is Swedish for food. So there you go. Mathilda means "food fight".
