Did I ever tell you that last summer as we were making our transition to the west coast, I had a big scare with David?? We had just gotten things moved into his room and the whole family was hanging out downstairs when David said he wanted to get something out of his room. He had been gone a couple minutes when I decided to check on him. When I walked into his room I found him leaning out of an open second-story window saying "Mommy look! I'm outside!" It took .4575 seconds for him to see the fear on my face and come back inside. Oh my goodness did he get a talking to, but I knew it was on me for not thinking to lock the window. I know that stories like these happen to parents every day and they may or may not end the same way. So when Nationwide asked to team up and write about their Make Safe Happen program, I was excited to help! New on the blog today, I'm sharing 21 tips for a safer nursery.
