I TRIED FOLLOWING A FALLEN ANGEL’S MAKEUP TUTORIAL

Apropos of nothing, here is a small bit of dialogue between Nisroc and the Legions that I wrote to go into my day 11 Whumptober ficlet as a just-so story for Why the Erics’ Makeup Is So Much, and then I couldn’t work in (because Aziraphale doesn’t speak their language), which I totally forgot I had tucked away until now.  Think of it as an outtake?  I wrote the dialogue down at like 1 am before going to bed a week ago but added a little bit of blocking because my abbreviated notes were a little illegible to people who aren’t me.

Legion #1: We really love your makeup, how did you do it?

Nisroc: Oh, that's super sweet of you to say!  But honestly I don't even think you need makeup.

Legions: Really?

Nisroc: No!  You have such good skin!  But like, okay, if you want this look, here's what you do:

Legion #1 is rapt; Legion #2 is taking notes on a clay tablet, and taps on Legion #3′s shoulder to borrow a stylus.

Nisroc: [speaking as much with her hands as her mouth] So do your normal makeup, I'd suggest like, a really nice smoky eye?  And then, just, you know, look into the middle distance and think about all the people you've disappointed and let down and stuff... and all your past mistakes... and like, really anything bad that you remember, like dead pets or loved ones?

Legion #2: Yeah?

Nisroc: And then you just cry it out!  I hear crying's pretty good for you too so, you know.

Legion #1: I don't think we have any dead loved ones, and Beelzebub won't let us have a pet.  [he is very pouty]

Nisroc: Okay, well, you could probably get away with just rubbing some onion on there?  Or garlic.  Garlic's good on pretty much everything.

Legion #2: [writing] ...onion or garlic.

Nisroc: But look, don’t be afraid to put your own spin on it, it’s all about expressing yourself.  Selves.  Whichever.  [pause]  Beelzebub won't let you have a pet?

Legion #2: Nah, we keep asking.

Legion #3: We’d keep it out of the hellfire and everything!

Nisroc: Well, you know, a pet's a pretty big responsibility... [they walk away, leaving Aziraphale in his cell]
