Holding out the reset button, the cause of all his misery and suffering ever since the god appeared in his hazy, nauseating fever-dreams, Yuuto watched as a variety of emotions cycled through Maki's dark eyes: confusion, anger, hope. Confusion, because why? Why would the boy offer her another chance after she had turned them down so many times before? Anger, for how dare he pity her! A mere mortal, pitying a god!

Hope, a fleeting, distant hope that vanished as the sun cast its last rays through the skies and welcomed the dusk.

For even though she was selfish and only sought her own Utopia even at the cost of others' dreams, Tamagawa Maki did not wish to take a truly innocent life.

And that exactly was what Yuuto was offering her, for a chance to make things right.

The reset button was a powerful thing, which surprised her at first, when Yuuto made his wish of perfection, for she only saw shallow motives and misplaced pride in the boy, and as a result did not think much of casting him aside in search for a mortal with a stronger wish.

But now, now that she saw its true potential, Hashidate Yuuto immediately became one of the most respectable humans in the world through the god's eyes.

And here he was, offering to give up his own existence in order for her to continue her own? Truly, Maki had severely misunderstood the boy.

"Shounen... to do this is to gamble your own life away. It-- it's like a game of Old Maid with no possible way to win! So... why? Why would you even think of helping me fix my life when all I've ever done was ruin yours?!"

Yuuto hesitated for a moment, inspecting the device in his hands meticulously before shrugging and holding it out again.

"Isn't that what friends are for?"

For a fleeting moment, Maki's eyes softened, and a tear threatened to escape the once-cold irises.

Friends? Even after all she did, Yuuto considered her a... friend...?

"You really are an idiot, reset boy."

For once, there was no malice or venom tinged in her tone, the god on the verge of tears and the human in her presence only letting out a resigned laugh. For a moment, there was a blissful, companiable silence between the two, as if they were truly the best of friends, before the yowl of a stray cat jolted them, red eyes and black fur slinking away into the shadows.

The god hesitated for a moment, looking at the offer, the literal gift of a second chance being presented to her, before she took off into the sky and vanished from Yuuto's sight. She didn't take it in the end, but he was sure Maki really wanted to.

cedar collects books of all sorts.constantly sad about the library of alexandria

izanami collects snakes.they have ones that have no right to be the size of a house and are absolutely too small.so smoll.basically crazy cat person except up to 11 and snakes.

maki collects booze bottles.sorta.

furnival collects sweets he absolutely adores sweets and anything to do with them

moi-san collects masks.also makes masks.adores masks.especially ones from venice.

lumiére collects fragments of nightmares,in a manner similar to the immune system memorizing illnesses so that it can deal with them more effectively.

what are some of your ocs biggest ambitions? also: which of these ambitious characters is the closest to reaching their goal(s)?

my most ambitious characters would have to be the little group of angels,however those four will almost always be far from their goals

seraphim wants nothing else but the eradication of all of demonkind and those of impure thought,though his idea of this is very skewed 

cypress was always working on means to carry all believers to heaven in the most painless way possible so that heaven wouldn’t be as deserted as it is,however before he could figure out how,he fell from grace and became wormwood

damabiath/dagos strived to build the perfect battleship in life.never managed.now he strives for redemption of his brother.never will happen,heaven is strict about who and what goes in.

cedar,while helping cypress,soon became enthralled in the idea of books and started collecting and writing his own.he strives to have a library of all the books that ever existed and will be,however thanks to historic events and books being constantly lost to time,his collection will never be complete.

aside from those four there’s maki! he’s already succeeded with his ambition of owning and running a small,successful and famous bar.
