I’s sick of those people saying “AI could be a useful tool if used correctly!!!” Because you know what? They’re right—AI could (have been) a useful tool but it’s not!

AI has cemented itself as a power house that could do and be almost everything you want it to be: a friend, a partner. A 50 page essay on a complex topic? Consider it done in minutes.

But just because it can do all of those things doesn’t make it helpful to you. A tool is something that helps you—it doesn’t make it happen for you. Like an encyclopedia.

AI could have been a useful tool if it got presented as one when AI first started rising. Instead it was presented as a whole knowing robot that can do whatever.

People now are relying on AI with almost everything. How is that helpful? Teenagers don’t know how to create the most basic essays! Kids are using AI as a substitute for learning! Adults can’t even write emails (emails!!) without the help of ChatGPT.

AI has the ability to be helpful, of course it does, but it will never actually use said ability. A tool is supposed to help guide you, AI companies don’t want that, they want a docile, empty-headed person to feed content into. That’s how they make their profit after all.

So stop with the “AI could be useful!!” It could have been, as in PAST tense. But it was never even made to be helpful in the first place!!!
