Making Mail
Making Mail
Making Mail is a documentary exploring the beauty and community surrounding mail-art. The film looks to discover why slowing down through the postal service in this fast paced world really means a great deal. Directed by Michael Polk (2014) Produced by The Making Company For more information, visit http://www.themakingcompany.com
My sister loves writing letters and is disappointed that the people she's familiar with won't return her letters. I've told her about your letter writing and I would like to help her set up her own collection of pen pals. I've told her she should set up a PO Box, but outside of that I'm not sure how to help her find the actual friends to write. Do you have any tips that I could show her? Thank you for your time.
Awh, of course!
I would definitely suggest her setting up a P.O. box, especially if she’s going to be writing and getting to know people she doesn’t know in person. For people who are new to letter-writing or who are looking for pen-pals and resources, I would highly suggest the Letter Writers Alliance. You can get a life-time membership for only $5 USD.
For inspiration, tell her to check out Amber Esner’s Making Mail blog, and that she should watch the Making Mail documentary inspired by Amber’s project, directed by Mike Polk. You’ll also find me and other incredible folks interviewed/filmed in there. :)
