“Walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.” ― Thich Nhat Hahn 2017 was an incredible year for me, filled with journeys, both inner and outer. I was in India, France, Scotland, England, Thailand and Bhutan. I was also in a serious car accident that literally turned me on my ear and injured one of my eyes. My time in India and Bhutan reminded me of my deep and abiding love for spiritual practice and meditation, my time in Scotland and Thailand reconnected me with the feeling of home I always find near the ocean, and my car accident and resulting injuries and recovery reminded me of how brief and precious this life can be, and that a strong and healthy body is something to be nurtured and appreciated. While I would not have chosen the last of the adventures I listed, I feel this is the journey that has impacted me most. I have been humbled, and humility has brought me back to what I love the most. I am grateful every day now, to breathe, to feel the earth beneath me, to see beauty around me, to spend precious moments, whether brief or lingering, with the rare and wonderful people who I am fortunate to call friends. So I walk into this new year kissing the Earth with my feet, staying close to what is most essential and with the desire and intention to act more from love than fear whenever possible. I am so thankful I do not walk alone, that we all share this journey. ❤️❤️❤️ Photo: Bhutan 2017, rice fields #2018 #2018goals #giocondayoga #makingsenseofthings #2017 #newbeginnings #bhutan #wherewillyogatakeyou #thetravelyogi (at Bhutan)
