Mal walks through town after another successful loot he grins as he looks at his treasures Yes this should be enough to get Astrid that Christmas gift she’ll love it The bag starts floating but Mal immediately grabs it “Astrid I know you’re here!”
“Oh boo” She comes out from behind a tree “You ruined everything”
“Trying to steal from me again?”
She holds her hands up in defense “Hey I’m your wife I’m just collecting my half”
“No can do babe not when I need it”
“And so do I how else am I supposed to get Christmas gifts?”
Mal smirks “Oh I know a great place where you can”
“I’m not stealing gifts on Christmas”
Mal laughs “Now I didn’t say that”

Mal chuckles then he reaches into his pocket “You’re lucky it’s the holidays here” He throws a bag of gold at her
Astrid quickly catches it “Yay! Now I can get all my gifts” She smirks then disappears behind the tree and reappears behind him “I might need some extra” She grabs a small pouch of gold and disappears
“I be nice and that’s the thanks I get? Your ass is gonna pay for that!”
Astrid giggles “Not my fault you didn’t secure it probably see you later!”
Mal rolls his eyes as he continues into town
As night falls Mal heads back to their cottage quickly wrapping the gifts as he sits and waits by the fire he let’s out a frustrated sigh Where is that woman? Oh she’s gonna really get it for being late
Astrid steps in a few moments later “Sorry I’m late” Mal scoops her up into his arms and pins her to the wall
Astrid laughs “Mal what are you doing?”
He smirks “Teaching you about being on time and stealing from your own husband now why do you love to cause problems Astrid if you weren’t such a troublemaker I won’t have to do this to you”
Astrid giggles “Takes one troublemaker to know one Mal and besides you love it”
Mal growls “You’re lucky I do and I love you now I think you owe me a peak at my gift”

“It’s a deal” He releases her and they both sit by the fire he hands her gift “Ladies first”
Astrid smiles as she opens it “Oh this is a nice brush Mal”

Mal chuckles “Oh sure you don’t and you also didn’t make us late to our own wedding”

Astrid grins as she opens it inside is a gold band bracelet with jewels “Mal this is beautiful”
“Turn it over”
Astrid turns over the bracelet and reads the engraving To Astrid my amazing fearless wife you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me

Astrid giggles as she hands him a box “Here you go”
Mal opens it and grins “Oh these are nice boots and these gloves are they leather?”

Mal picks up a belt “Oh nice for all the weapons and durable”

Mal grins “Thank you Astrid this is amazing I love it”

Astrid pulls away then hands him another box smiling “Here you go”
Mal opens it and finds it a little ball “What’s this ball for?”
Astrid smirks as the ball explodes sending a foul smell all over Mal
“Ugh what the hell?!”
Astrid laughs “Ew Mal you stink!”
“You’re gonna pay for that bring your ass here!” He lunges for her but Astrid dodges him giggling
“You’re not getting near me till you bathe”
“You’re gonna smell like this too come here!” Astrid laughs as she dashes to the bedroom “You always pick the obvious places to hide!” Mal laughs as he races after her

Just finished Blades of Light and Shadow Book 3 as a VIP…
and I can confirm that polyamory is an option at the end. You can marry every possible love interest, or marry some of them/one of them and just stay dating the others, or be friends with all of them and only marry one, or just date all of them in the end, etc.
