malcolm unzipped his suitcase and tossed it on the bed, before he began piling folded up shirts and pants inside of the large bag. “i told you weeks ago i’d be leaving at the end of the month. i have a few press things to do, a few promo events to go to, and then i’m starting the north american leg of my tour,” he explained glancing up at them, before turning around to grab the rest of the clothes he had folded a few hours earlier. “i’d be lying if i said i wouldn’t be gone for a long time. i probably won’t be back until the middle of may, and then that’s only for a day or two before i go to south america, and then europe. there’s a few shows in asia and africa too. the whole tour won’t wrap up until september or october - i’m not too sure, i have to look at the dates again.”

malcolm didn’t usually say things like that, but he figured that it was needed right at that moment. it wasn’t that he didn’t feel anything for amir, because he did, it’s just that when it came to voice things, words got caught in his throat. the only time where he felt like he could be open and honest was when he was writing lyrics and singing on a track. that was where most of his secrets were. if you listened to his music, you’d know his whole life story, and people just thought that he was throwing words together that rhymed. but he decided to open up just this once and be honest - for amir’s sake. and if the kiss was anything to go by, amir accepted it. he offered him one of his rare smiles. “okay, whatever you say.”

“yo, you really need to stop sweating me about this bullshit.” there was nothing that annoyed malcolm more than this conversation right here. it seemed as though no matter what they talked about these days, it always led right back up to this. “i don’t know how many times i’ve got to tell you, i ain’t droppin’ out the game. it ain’t happening - not yet. i’m still young as fuck and i still have a lot of shit to do. you think i’m gonna risk everything i got for some damn baby that i don’t even want yet? nah, ma.” his hands broke up the bits of weed he dumped into the rello, shaking his head as he brought the paper up to his lips so he could lick and seal it. “what do i gotta say to get that through your thick skull?”
