he spotted ben on his way to the ball, which was pretty easy to do since he was sporting a bright baby blue suit and tried his best to hide how he wanted to laugh. "well don't you look adorable." malcolm grinned at his best friend and stopped trying to hide his amusement.

"what's up benny boy?" malcolm said greeting his best friend with a grin. "i told you i got a new job right? the whole being a trainer thing wasn't cutting it for me anymore, also i think i pissed my boss off one too many times and i got tired of being oscar the grouched all the time." he laughed about it, cash was a good boss and was a good guy, it really was mostly because he realized he didn't like being a trainer.

"card right?" malcolm asked the man while they were off to the side somewhere. "i've seen you at the gym a lot, pretty sure that's what i've heard people call you. took me a second to realize it was your name and not them just asking you for cards." he admitted with a chuckle.

malcolm finished hitting the bag and slid his hand out of one of his boxing gloves to toss off to the side. he grabbed his water bottle and took a sip from it deciding to just take the other glove off and toss it with his other. "gyms closed already." he mumbled when he heard the door open. looking up he saw it was ben, "oh hey, shouldn't you be getting home already?"

malcolm was out for his morning jog, it was a way to keep himself in shape and keep his mind clear with everything in town. he was grateful that he'd downloaded his music on his phone before coming into town so he at least still had that, headphones in and blaring songs. when malcolm turned a corner, he accidentally ran into someone, catching the person immediately do they didn't fall and took out a headphone. "shit my bad. are you alright?"

malcolm tried to avoid this exact situation when he found out kane was also becoming a trainer, making sure that they worked different times but because of a mix up they got scheduled together. he stayed quiet most of the shift, not many people coming in for training and mostly to just work out but when the gym was empty and malcolm was cleaning up, he glanced over to kane. "you training people to use drugs here too or was that only a you thing?" he asked sarcastically. "makes more sense that you fucked off here now, hiding away from the problems you created. feels like a coward move if you ask me."

"i've always wondered what was the point of having a food market and a food warehouse instead of just using one or the other?" malcolm said out loud mostly to himself until he realized who he was standing next to. "sorry, that was supposed to be a thought inside my head." he admitted with a sheepish smile.

"hey eden, mind giving me a hand?" malcolm asked over the two boxes in his hands that he was trying to move. they both volunteered at the retirement home every so often so it wasn't rare that their paths occasionally crossed. "bit off more than i could chew and made this way heavier than it needed to be." he said with an awkward laugh.
