Witch Way Is Right? Part 5
AN: Not to sound like a pussy, but Part 4 flopped like a fish because of tumblr’s stupid news feed update and it honestly gave me a bit of writer’s block. I’m hoping the same doesn’t happen this time, so if you’re reading this make sure you read Parts 1-4… 5 may not be as long as 4, so sorry if you were expecting a lot. I probably sound depressed but I promise you I’m typing this with a smile on my face. Also, I’m not good with promises. Anyways, enjoy Part 5 uglies!!
Summary: (Y/N) is a male witch and also comes from a family of witches. When (Y/N) is backed up in a corner by his brother, who chose the dark path, he is forced to choose his own fate, choosing the light path. This causes an Ecliptic War between Light and Dark Witches. During this war, an eclipse (both solar and lunar) is happening, and won’t end until one brother is left standing. With the help of the Avengers and other helpful heroes, will (Y/N) be able to defeat his brother, or will the world be forever secluded in darkness?

I still can’t believe my parents wanted me to choose the dark path. Apparently, it wasn’t their original plan though. Before my brother chose the dark path, my parents raised and expected the both of us to choose the light path. But Alex, being the idiotic rebel that he is, decided that being 18 meant he didn’t have to listen to my parents anymore. I mean, yeah being 18 means you can make your own decisions, but how were we supposed to know that he was planning to go dark. Now, we’ve started an Ecliptic War.
According to my parents, the Ecliptic War is caused when two siblings choose two different paths. The solar eclipse represents the siblings trying to win over dominance between each other. When the second sibling chooses the opposite path of the forst sibling, the whole world experiences a solar eclipse no matter where they are in the world. What makes it worse is the WAR part. Apparently, the eclipse doesn’t go away until the two siblings, and a bunch of other witches, partake in an all out war of Light vs Dark, Good vs Evil… Day vs Night.
Finally, my parents told me that even though me and Alex are their children, they’re gonna choose to fight along side me. I can tell by the look on their faces when saying that, that they really wish there was another way to stop this war from happening but I know its far beyond their power. This war is completely inevitable. Towards the end of the conversation, I couldn’t help the tears that found their way out of my eyes. I never wanted for any of this to happen. I don’t wanna fight my brother, let alone kill him, which is what I’m pretty sure I’ll have to do in order to end this eclipse. What had really caught me off guard though, was seeing my dad cry for the first time. In all of my 15 years of living, I’ve never seen my dad actually cry. It was hard to watch without shedding a few tears myself.
Tony had suggested that it’d be best if I went with him to the Avenger’s HQ to discuss a game plan for the war. Oh yeah I almost forgot. Tony volunteered to take me into the Avengers HQ as an official member since I’m already 18 and need help getting used to my new powers. Peter tried so hard to convince Tony to take him with us but Tony said he was too young. My parents approved of the decision too, which I’m surprised about. Tony also agreed that both him and the rest of the Avengers will help me fight in the Ecliptic War. I guess there really is a light at the end of every tunnel.
As we’re heading to the airport, the ride there was anything but quiet. Tony kept blasting loud ass rap music in a effort to make me feel more comfortable, but if I’m being honest, I mostly listen to rock and metal so his attempts were pretty cringey. He even played Bodak Yellow by Cardi B and started singing along with it. I have to admit though it did make me chuckle, which I guess was his mission cause he pointed it out.
“So, (Y/N) is it?” he asked. “I’ve noticed you have a Captain America phone case.”
I looked down at my phone as I remembered I was gonna take it off before I left. I don’t wanna seem like a huge fanatic when I actually go and meet the rest of the Avengers. “Oh yeah I’m sorry, sir. I totally forgot to take it off. I know what happened between you two so I…” I tried explaining but Tony cut me off. Probably for the best.
“First of all, call me Tony. You really don’t need to be so formal with me. Second, that whole thing between me and Capsicle is completely watered down. We’re fine now.” He explained.
“Wait, really?” I asked. “Even after what Bucky did?”
“Like I said we’re fine. Water under the bridge.”
I think about what he said and I can’t help the smile that starts to spread across my face. I honestly didn’t think they’d be able to patch things up after that big fight they had at the airport. I mean it was so bad, that I heard Tony’s best friend, Rhodey, almost died. But, if they’re able to settle their differences after a fight like that, then I guess they have a better alliance than I thought.
We finally arrive in Upstate, New York pass the woods where theres a big building with the signature Avenger’s logo on it with the two quinjets in the distance. Why am I not surprised? We walk in the building and right away I spot none other than Ms. Pepper Potts herself sitting in what looks like a comfy waiting bench with a shimmering gold iPad in one hand, and a stylus in the other. She looks up at Tony and greets him with a pec on the lips and looks towards me with the most genuine and nicest smile someone can give another person. She stands and walk towards me with her hand sticking out at me.
“Hi! You must be Mr. (Y/L/N).” She says. As I grasp her hand, I notice the diamond ring on her finger. It’d be hard not to really.
“You must be correct.” I reply with a smile on my face as well. “Its a pleasure to meet you Ms. Potts.”
“Actually,” Tony says, “it’s Mrs. Stark.”
“Oh, you just love adding that small detail, don’t you.” She says.
“Well it’s not really a SMALL detail now is it?” He says matter-of-factly. I watch them start to bicker and they remind me of my parents. They some bicker and insult each other, but I know that at the end of the day they love each other unconditionally. Tony grabs my attention as I’m almost lost in my own thoughts.
“There you are, kid. Where’d you go?” He asks.
“I was just thinking.” I answer.
“Yeah, I don’t blame you. I’m sure you have a lot to think about after what you’re parents told you, huh.” He asked and I just nodded. This is really cool and all. I mean its been my dream ever since I discovered my powers to become an Avenger, but every time I look up at the sky or even look outside, I’m reminded of the mistake I made. I started a war between my brother and I and now I’m dragging the people I care about into it, even though they have nothing to do with it. My train of thought was once again interrupted by Tony patting me on the shoulder and gesturing me to follow him. “This way, kid! I got something I want you to see.” he says and I quickly follow right behind him as we enter the elevator to what I believe is the fourth floor of the building.
Tony leads me to the living room and I’m instantly star struck by who I see. It’s the Avengers! Almost all of them are here: Hawkeye, Scarlett Witch, Vision, Ant-Man, Winter Soldier, and even Falcon. “Team, this is the new recruit! (Y/N), I’m sure you know who everyone is, right.” he says with his famous Stark smirk. I can’t even form full sentences. I’m just standing here looking like an idiot. I’ve always wanted to meet them and now here I am completely starstruck!
Wanda is the first to greet by giving me a lretty tight hug. I snap back into reality and squeeze back, not as hard though. “Its good to finally meet you, (Y/N)!” She says with her faint accent.
“Its so nice to meet you, too! ALL of you! I can’t believe this is really happening, I mean you guys have no idea how excited I am!” I say with a shaken and nervous voice. Tony walks up behind me and rests his hand on my should to get me to calm down.
“Just relax, kid! You’re one of us now. You have nothing to be worried or nervous about.” He says to try and calm me down and it kind of worked.
Falcon, who I learned is named Sam, starts to walk towards me with his arms folded. “So, I hear you can do magic. I also hear that you and your destructive brother are the reason behind the solar eclipse outside.” he says and I shamefully nod my head. I almost forgot about the war. I’m sure they’re already aware about it so there’s really no need to bring it up in front of them.
“Can you do something cool for us or are you really new to your powers?” Clint asks.
“I’m new to advanced magic, but that doesn’t mean I can’t put on a little show for you guys.” I say. I just got here and I’m already starting to loosen up around them. I have a feeling we’re gonna get along just fine. My eyes glow gold as a gold aura starts to appear around my hands. I wonder what I should do for em. I mean, I wanna impress them, but I also don’t wanna get em all worried like I’m gonna attack or something. I look at Vision and notice he looks a bit tense. Maybe he could go for a color change.
I point my hands towards him and say, “Taghyir Hawaa!”(Change hue) I say and you see Vision start to slowly change from his normal ruby red color to a hot pink. Everyone starts laughing and wheezing uncontrollably except Vision who just looks annoyed.
After about 10 minutes of everyone cracking jokes and getting comfortable, I can tell that Vision had enough. “Alright, you’ve all had your fun, now change me back to normal, now.” He asked annoyed.
I looked at him with an ‘Oh shit’ face. “Oh, well remember when I said that I’m new to my advanced powers?” Vision nodded in response, “Well, I don’t really know how to reverse spells, so you might be stuck like that until I get some decent training.” I said while trying to keep a straight face. Everyone starts laughing again. I can totally do it. I’ve reversed spells before when Peter had those atrocious 8 eyes earlier, but what can I say. I love using my powers to cause a little trouble. To be fair, it was hard not to, but I don’t think I’ll actually need serious training.
Speaking of training, Tony calls my attention to tell me that he’s arranged someone to train me with my new powers, and that they’ll be here in 5 days. “Wait. So, Wanda isn’t gonna be my trainer?” I asked.
“No, this guys had his powers for about 7 months, but I hear he’s a fast learner so I’m sure you’ll be fine under his supervision.” Tony says.
“Will we be training here at least?” I ask.
“Nope. You guys’ll be somewhere completely different. I don’t even know if you guys’ll be on planet Earth.” He says. I start to get worried. Who could this mystery sorcerer be? And why would we have to go to a different planet to train? All these questions rumbling in my head, I forgot to ask the most obvious one.
“Ok, one more question and I’m done being annoying.” I say.
“Shoot!” Tony says with his arms folded.
“I noticed there’s a few people missing. For instence, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow…”
“Captain America? Yeah, we don’t know where Goldilocks and Giant Green are but Steve and Nat are on some mission and won’t be back til late tonight or early tomorrow morning.” Tony interrupts teasingly and I don’t even need to mirror to know that I’m blushing.
Now, its Scott’s turn to speak. “Uh-Oh! Does someone have a little star-spangled crush on certain star-spangled man?”
“Wait, (Y/N), you really have a crush on Steve? We actually have a member on the team whose gay?” Wanda asks in an excited tone.
“Actually, I’m not gay. I’m bi!” I interrupt.
Tony looks at her with his signature Stark smirk, “Well, if Cap likes (Y/N) back, then we might have always had a gay guy in the team.”
Bucky perks up in his seat and says, “You know, I’ve known Steve my whole life and I can tell you that although he’s had some beautiful women in his life back in our day, I have seen him checking out some guys in this time more often than usual.” At that note, everyone started to spark into there own conversation about how they already ship me with Cap and starting to come up with our ship name. In my opinion, all the names don’t really sound too great. Tony slips out my phone from my pocket and shows everyone my Captain America phone case and that gets the team riled up and asking to see my phone case.
I look towards a window and see that its still a bit dark out and its only 3:27 p.m. I have to get serious. We all should get serious. I know these guys are trained in fighting bad guys and all, but some of these dark witches may be more powerful than anyone they’ve ever faced. I don’t know if we even have time to think of useless ship names and yet that’s exactly what everyone is doing. I gotta tell them but they’re all talking at the same time. I gotta shut them all up. Once again my eyes and hands glow gold as I say, “Katm alsawt.”(Mute)
Everyone goes silent. Their mouths still move but no sound comes out. Wanda is the first to notice as she looks around and tries to yell but nothing. Scott see this and notices right after. Soon, everyone realizes they can’t say anything with Tony being last by trying to clap but still no sound. I snicker when I see hime do that and that causes everyone to look at me. Atleast I got their attention.
“Guys, I’m sorry I had to do that, but just hear me out alright?” They all start to nod. “Listen, I can tell that when you guys aren’t off on missions or saving the world you’re either relaxin, hangin out or doing some studies for something, but there’s a war coming soon. I’ve only known you guys personally for an hour and a half and I already feel like part of the family.”
At that, half of them gave out an inaudible “Awwww” while the others just smile.
“Yeah, and the thing about this war is that some of us, if not all, will get seriously hurt and I wanna make the least bit possible as I can. I mean it’s scary going against these kinds of people cause I don’t know what they’re capable of. These are fully powered dark witches we’re talkin about here, both male and female. If they wanted to, they could turn you guys inside-out, or have you’re internal organs bleed so that you choke on you own blood or even worse!” I hardly even notice the tear that ran down my face. I really care about these guys and I wanna make sure they’ll get out alive in the end of this war.
Tony taps me on the shoulder to get my attention and I look at him while wiping away my tears. He tries to say something but I can’t hear him. “Are you really trying to joke around after that heartfelt speech I just gave you guys?! How could… Oh shit, the spell!” My eyes went wide as I almost went off on everyone here. My eyes and hands turn gold again as I reverse the spell.
“Carrots?” Tony says to see if they have their voices back. “Ok good. Anyways, what I was trying to say was, don’t worry about us. We’re the Avengers! We’ve been through more battles with weirder people than you think, I’m sure we can handle an army of dark magicians, right team?”
“RIGHT!” Everyone says in unison.
“Thanks guys, really I appreciate you guys helping me out with fighting my brother.” I say.
Vision gets up and floats towards me. “By the way, how were you able to reverse the spell that made us mute if you said you don’t know how to reverse spells.” he asks and I completely forgot I said that! Now Vision is gonna want me to turn him back to his original color. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
“Fine, dude. Just a sec.” I say in defeat. “Are you sure you don’t wanna stay pink, though?”
“Fine, fine whatever. Aawah Riyhgat” I say and he starts to turn back to his normal color. Sort of.
“Thank you, (Y/N).” he says but little does he know, both of his eyes are pink.
