Are you really a malec/magnus fan or just a poser cause you seem to flip flop on your opinion regarding them and agree with some anti malec narratives, so you come off very disingenuous, you say your a malec stan but I don't think you are, I've seen comments where you seem to throw malec/magnus under the bus, all the while pretending like your sticking up for them, you come across really fake and I really don't think your a malec stan as you claim
I ship Malec and love them a lot, but just because I do it doesn’t mean that I have to agree with everything the writers do with Malec or with everything the characters Magnus or Alec do. Maybe the term stan wasn’t the right term, because I can have an opinion about things I dislike about their writing, but I love them a lot, to the point of getting emotional on most of their scenes together or them inspiring me. I think that I’ll always ship them no matter what (if the writers don’t messe up everything down the road), but I don’t have “blind loyalty” to fictional characters and like analysing them and writing meta about what I like or don’t like.
As to agreeing with anti malec narratives, I will agree or disagree with an idea if I agree or disagree, independent of it’s anti malec or not.
About flip flopping, I might agree with some points someone says and disagree with others, or I might have an opinion but being open to discussion and eventually sometimes I change some of my opinions when someone expresses their point of view in a way that resonates with me and makes me see things in a way I hadn’t seen before.
I love reading different ideas and perspectives, even when I don’t agree with them, and I love respectful and healthy debate, so for me ideas or love for characters is not something static.
A while ago some people were throwing me hate because I was agreeing with “J@lecs” about some specific issues. First of all I don’t usually browse the blogs to know if a person is a J@lec or not or whatever, but if someone says something and I agree with that specific issue, I don’t care if they support a ship I don’t like overall, I’m just agreeing with an idea or point of view.
Anyway, yes, I’m a Malec shipper and never stopped being, and I also love Magnus and Alec individually and the interactions they have with other people. For me Malec is one of the most interesting and compelling couples I’ve seen on TV.
