Synopsis:
Here we go, the most over rated band in hardcore. Nice riffs, somewhat stand alone lyrical content, and pioneers of their generations (early 2000′s) sound. Thats the good part, the bad...pretentiousness, the im more punk then you when in reality you created that persona its not natural. Lets bite off of The Sex Pistols and what not and let our arrogance shine. I dont get it. I do like some of their stuff including the rawness of this demo, but at some point things become obvious that they are trying too hard. Its not fair though to bash them on the after effects of this recording however. So looking at this recording and not the generated im going to dress in black and act like i have no interest in even being here as we come off as a pompous individuals, the music is harsh, energetic, somewhat redundant an unoriginal with the over used “fuck you” hardcore chorus. This is as good as they get, but only one assholes opinion of course.
So the layout...its a 7″ demo with the look of a cassette demo, right there thats a down mark. If you are going to release an out of press demo on vinyl, im all for it, but comparing this to other Malfunction Records releases they tried to hard to have the raw DIY edginess. Scribbled xerox’ed handwritten insert as if this was produced in the early 80′s ala 7 Seconds whose only choice it was to do so, who are you kidding. Again the generated pompus imagery/persona causes me to turn away.
