OKAY I DO WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE VARIOUS HALT PRISONS BECAUSE THEY'RE SO COOL and they also secretly relieve the entire time that Vincent is on THEIR side but here it is:
Terrestrial Prison: Malhaven Prison
Located in the Abyssal South Pacific, Malhaven is HALT'S main prison on earth. It is a vertically tiered, ocean-embedded containment facility built to contain or neutralize the MOST DANGEROUS OFFENDERS by weaponizing the environment, social engineering, and architecture. I'm updating the tiered system where the entire prison descends deep into the ocean. A villain's placement depends on three metrics: body count, severity of crime, power class/destructive capability. Human criminals, offenders, and serial killers are places in the above-water levels, supervillains who are dangerous but limited are placed in mid-level submerged tiered cells, and deep water levels are reserved for existential threats, evil magic users, Legion of Doom Tier memebers. The deeper the tier, the more impossible escape becomes. If breakouts occur in the lower levels—pressure valves open, that section gets flooded, and the ocean itself crushes or drowns escapees—and this is an automated response meaning that even if one villain tries anything funny tk trigger the breakout out? Everyone in that tier dies. Then we have personally tailored cells for major villains like Lex Luthor, Sabretooth, Magneto, and etc like anti-magic siphons, psionic dampeners, and etc...meaning major villains are already anticipated by HALT. Then of course, the power reclamation grid where electricity based villains power back-up systems, magic users power HALT operatives weapons and gear to handle magic users and magical protection barriers, so basically—if your power was useful and you chose to use it to torment people? Congrats, it's now going to be used to keep you and other prisoners locked up. And then, of course, Gooch—Vincent's pet genetically engineered Leviathan, patrols the waters. It can distinguish HALT ships with non sanctioned ships and here's the thing—HALT PRISON UNIFORMS ARE CLEANED A CERTAIN WAY SO THEY HAVE A SPECIFIC SCENT THAT CARRIES BOTH ON LAND AND WATER...so if it's an escape craft of prisoners then GOOCH WILL JUST STRAIGHT UP EAT AND DESTROY IT. However, if it doesn't identify any escapees or prisoners on board then Vicent did train him to "fetch" where Gooch will open his mouth and trap the ship and he swims to shore of Malhaven and essentially opens it's mouth to set them down to be questioned by Malhaven gaurds and officials.
EXTERRESTRIAL PRISON: The Archive of The Unforgiven
This is actually more of a major scale evidence room than it is a prison. The Archive is more like they collect documentation of things like fleets, weaponized cultures, dead gods and celestials that get recovered, abandoned technologies and experiments, and other various space artifacts because HALT can not legally claim Alien overlords becajse most of them are under jurisdiction of their own planets, species, or Green Lantern corps but HALT is the only organization that plans to store these things and contain them properly because genocidal fleets and weaponry don't get second attempts, failed experiments don't become galatic disasters, and HALT takes careful measures to be galatically neutral. So if empires have their dirty secrets, they can fess up and hand it over quietly or else they'll be on watch. If someone DOES choose to attack the Archive in an attempt to reclaim something? Blaise can literally supercharge the defenses of the Archive and weaponize and power the fleets they have against anyone who is directly attacking the Archive...but only under those conditions. It's interesting because the Archive isn't just HALT agents but intergalactic HALT agents as well from various planets who've been the victims of such tools and Vincent and Troy and agents under them to actually work together with the scientists of their planets to reverse engineer tools of destruction to repurpose them into more sustainable things for previously harmed planets to use like to innovate things like food growth, environmental restoration, and other nonlethal but still essential things to help these planets rebuild themselves. Again, the screening is thorough but there are benefits so HALT EVEN HAS LEGAL JURIDSTICTION ON SOME PLANETS. So The Archive of the Unforgotten is less fully HALT but more of a galatic coalition thst mutually benefits HALT and the planets they work with and anyone is welcome to join. Angelo and the Triplets even created a magical dimension to store things like Apokolips (Darkseid's planet), Brainiac's Ship, and other things.
MENTAL PRISON: The Uncanny
This is for arresting rouge reality warpers, telepathic tyrants, conceptual magic users, and etc because IT TRAPS YOU IN YOUR OWN PSYCHE. This work of art combines Angelo's old cult's technology and Troy's magic with the Triplets combined magic but basically...THE TRIPLETS CONCENTRATED THEIR MAGICAL ENERGIES INTO ESSENTIALLY A MAGICAL BULLET and when it hits the threat? THEY SEE, HEAR, AND EXPERIENCE THESE PSYCHIC ACCOUNTABILITY LOOPS where it essentially uses their own mind against them and traps the users mind in essentially exposing them to the various people, multiverses, and other things that they have harmed, would harmed, and will harm if they continue down this path. The more self-righteous, mentally unstable, or power hungry they are/erratic their thinking is? That means the Uncanny has a stronger hold on them. It isn't pure torture though, it's based on cognitive equilibrium so prisoners can leave when they've accepted accountability for their own actions and HALT knows that this is an intense method and *I'll discuss this later* Warden wants solutions that are brutal to those who are sadistic but can be healed from through commitment to be better and do better so there is specialized recovery programs HALT does because, again, THEY'RE PREVENTATIVE. Brutal, yes, but they're not going to create a problem without designing a solution to it.
